"Hey, she's waking up." Someone said.
Ollie struggled to her feet, and looked at the stray cats that were surrounding her. The largest cat stepped forward, he was black with a white paw and a white stripe down the middle of his face.
"Too bad, our dinner seems to be alive." He said. "Well, we can eat her anyway."
Ollie backed up, there were too many cats. The large black and white cat jumped onto her, digging his nails into the back of her neck. Ollie reached around and grabbed him by the neck, she tossed him into the crowd of cats. That gave her enough time to escape. The cats ran after her, they were going to get revenge for their leader. Ollie made the poor choice to head back into town, the cats didn't follow her, but people would see her, and catch her while she was weak and injured. She had a horrible pain in her head, most likely from the fall. She was still bleeding from the attacks by the men, and now the attack by the cats. She was covered in mud and dirt, not to mention blood. She stopped for a second, watching traffic on a busy freeway.
"Where's Sol?" She wondered.
Ollie sniffed the ground, trying to get Sol's scent. Then she remembered, Sol was taken by men. She went to the nearest shelter, and looked around. She heard a man talking, and she listened, in hopes it would be about Sol.
"What happened to the pitbull labrador mix I brought in earlier?" The man asked.
"The white puppy, with a black paw?" A woman asked. "She was adopted."
Ollie left the shelter, and hid. She couldn't believe what she was hearing, Sol had been adopted. She looked at all the nearby houses, it would take forever to search them all, so she gave up and headed back to her original hiding spot, in hopes Sol would escape and come home. People saw her, but they didn't know it was the same dog they've been fearing. They just thought she was an abandoned dog, but they did nothing to help her. She wasn't the dog she use to be, after losing Sol, she was devastated, she did nothing. She took the long way home, since she was in no rush. She hoped one of the houses would have Sol, and that she would come out to greet her, but it didn't happen.
Minx licked Sol's face. After hearing about Sol's life, she truly felt sorry for her. Sorry that she had lived a lie with a killer that she was faked into loving.
"Sol, it's okay. You will be okay." Minx said. "Look, what's done is done, you can't change that."
"I'm going back inside." Sol said.
"Okay." Minx said, rolling around in the dirt. "Have fun."
After a few minutes, Minx got up and went inside. The following day, the man took the dogs for a walk, Minx caught Ollie's scent, and knew that it meant danger. She tried to get her owner to turn back, she was whining and barking, and pulling on the leash. Eventually, he listened and they turned back. Minx did what she could to keep Sol indoors, but it was impossible to keep up with her.
"Sol, stay inside." Minx said. "There is a killer dog on the loose."
"Maybe that dog will take me in, like Ollie did." Sol said.
"Not all dogs are like Ollie." Minx said. "Actually, No dog is like Ollie. No dog was and never will be as aggressive has her."
Sol gowled. "She wasn't aggressive."
Sol ran outside, trying to get away from life. She wanted to hide forever, she didn't want to confront the horrors of life.
Minx came outside, and kept her distance from Sol. She kept a close eye on her, until she caught something moving in the corner of her eye. She looked over at the moving object, a dog covered in blood and dirt. The dog was limping, and was in horrible condition. She got closer, and the dog growled at her. The dog seemed scared, and sad. Minx sniffed the air, and backed away. She knew the dog, but the dog wasn't acting like itself, Minx was curious. The dog collapsed, and yelped in pain. Sol heard and looked at Minx, she saw the other dog, and came closer.
