Brianna's POV: I got my shoe off and jumped out right in time and Colten grabbed me. My breathing was completely out of control I mean wouldn't yours be if you were about to die?

"It's time to go back to the house"

"No I want to go to the park"

"Brianna you almost died and you still want to go to the park?"

"Don't judge me"

I stood up and we started walking but I was shaking really bad. Of course I wasn't okay but I still didn't want to go home.

"God that was terrifying"

"I was the one that almost died, not you"

"I know but the thought of losing you just....

"Don't get all sappy"

"Sorry"

"It's okay Colten"

"I know"

"Then stop shaking so badly"

"You're shaking too"

"I almost died"

"My best friend almost died"

"We're best friends again?"

"I was hoping we never stopped"

"Stop being cute"

"Sorry"

"You better be"

"Why did you date him but not me?"

"To be fair I didn't want to date him either, it just kind of happened"

"Can we just kind of happen?"

"Maybe in the future but right now I'm not ready for that"

"I understand, I'm willing to wait for you"

"Colten"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you"

"For what?"

"Not letting me be alone"

"It was my job"

"But still, thank you"

"I wouldn't have wanted you to get hurt"

"Come on, let's hurry I wanna swing"

I grabbed his hand and started walking faster.

"You're holding my hand"

"Just come on" I said letting go.

"Not unless you hold my hand again" He said stopping.

I turned around and looked at him and he was smiling.

"Come here" I said and he came closer.

I leaned in close to him and did a loud high pitch skreech and took off running.

"YOU TRICKED ME"

My running was kind of off balance due to the fact I'm only wearing one shoe but oh well. We arrived at the park and he tackled me and I laughed.

"Can I please just kiss you" He said still on top of me.

"Nope, we're best friends, best friends don't kiss"

He helped me up and we walked over to the swings and sat down.

"I bet I can swing higher than you!" I told him as I kicked off.
