Emma's point of view

Today, I have to go back to Harry's with Ava so she can meet her grandmother and aunt. I really wish I didn't have to, because of the awkwardness between me and Harry.

As I pulled up in Harry's driveway, I let out a loud sigh.

"You know, Ava baby, I can't wait until you're old enough to ride your bike to your dad's house and I don't have to drive you. That's gonna make everything so much easier for mommy." I said to Ava, looking at her through the mirror. She didn't understand a word I said, but she giggled to me because of the baby voice I used.

I got out of the car and carried Ava in her car seat up to the front door. I rang the doorbell, and only a few seconds later, the door was swung open by Harry. He gave me an awkward smile and quietly said, "Hey."

"Hi." I replied, avoiding eye contact as I walked inside.

I removed my shoes before walking into the living room, where Anne and Gemma were sat on the couch. When they saw me enter the room, they both got up to greet me and Ava.

"Emma, it's so nice to see you again! I missed you so much." Anne said, giving me a hug.

"I missed you too, Anne, very much." I said and smiled at her. Then, Gemma gave me a hug.

"We really have a lot of catching up to do." She said, letting out a chuckle.

"Yeah, we really do." I replied, chuckling as well.

"Now let me have a look at this young little lady." Gemma said and crouched down as I sat the car seat on the floor.

Anne was stood right behind Gemma, looking at Ava. Harry was still standing in the doorway.

"Look at her squishy cheeks!" Gemma exclaimed, touching Ava's cheeks. I saw Anne tearing up in the back, but she quickly wiped them away and crouched down to Ava as well.

"I can't believe I'm a grandma already." Anne said, smiling from ear to ear. She didn't take her eyes away from Ava for one second, and neither did Gemma. "Can I pick her up?" Anne asked.

"Of course." I replied, smiling at her.

Anne picked up Ava from the car seat and held her close to her chest. Tears fell from her eyes again, and one landed on Ava's forehead.

"Gemma, take a picture for me." Anne said and used her free hand to wipe her tears. Then, she smiled wide for the picture.

While Anne and Gemma were busy taking pictures of Ava, I quickly glanced over at Harry. He was still just standing in the doorway with his arms crossed and a small smile on his face as he was watching his mom and sister fonding over Ava.

"Emma?" I heard Gemma say, making me look over at her.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"Come with me to the bathroom?" She asked.

"Sure." I answered.

We headed to the bathroom, locked the door, and then sat down on the floor with our backs leaning against the door.

"So, what's going on between you and Harry?" She asked.

"Well, it's awkward." I replied, looking down in my lap. "It's just that I don't know what I want, but this isn't a decision I can wait too long to make. Like, what if I take too long and he moves on with someone else and I'll end up regretting I didn't just go for it. Or, if I make the decision too fast and rush into it, it can be wrong too and things will end up even more awkward."

"Emma, listen to me. He won't move on with someone new. I know my brother well enough to know that if he even tried to find someone new, there would have to be someone holding a gun to his head." Gemma said. "Do you love him?"

"It's complicated..."

"Just give me a yes or no answer. I deserve to know." She said.

"I guess, yes..." I replied.

"Look, I'm not gonna be that friend who's gonna tell you exactly what to do. I'll let you decide for yourself. Just remember that whatever you decide, Ava will be fine no matter if you get back with him or not." She said. "And whatever choice you make, I'll support you 100% no matter what."

"Thanks, Gem." I said and gave her a side hug.
