(Cole ^)
Shale

I stare up at Cole as we say to the music, my arms wrapped securely around his neck while his are tightly wound around my waist. He smirks at me before pulling me closer, so that I'm pressed up against him.

I feel my face heat up, worried that people around will notice. Biting my bottom lip nervously, I look around, only to have Cole's hand snakes out and grip my chin gently, turning my face to look at him.

His thumb comes out and untucks my lips from my teeth and leans down to kiss me, as soon as his lips brush against mine, a shiver runs through my body. I pull Cole closer, deepening the kiss, not caring that we are in the middle of a ball.

A throat clears beside us, causing Cole to let out a frustrated groan and pull away, giving me ma look that says we are going to finish this later, before turning to the new arrival.

I turn my attention to the intruder, tucking myself into Cole's side. I stare at the happy face of Ms. Calvo. My face splits into a wide grin, mirroring that of hers as she takes in the both of us.

"I can see I interrupted at a bad time, but we wouldn't want any of these people to witness such a precious moment," she says clapping her hands while smirking at us.

I look up at Cole as we watches his mother, a small smile on his face as he takes in her appearance. They should talk without me here.

"I'm going to go find Olivia, okay? I'll catch up with you later," I say, leaning up and kissing his cheek, about to untangle myself from him.

"No, don't leave me," he pouts playfully, wrapping his arms tighter around my waist.

"Cole," I say sternly, trying to fight the grin off my face. "You need to spend time with your mother, and I need to spend time with Olivia before she leaves. I meet up with you later, okay?" I say, unwrapping his arms from around me.

"Fine," he pouts as I walk off, earning a chuckle from me.

I make my way through the sea of people, towards the food, hoping to find Olivia there. I look around wildly for her in her black dress, but I don't see her. Moving around some more, looking over everyone's head, I don't find her in the corners of the room, where she normally would be.

I find myself moving back towards the dance floor and stop short when I see Olivia dancing and laughing with someone! She looked happy! Maybe it's just the alcohol from the Champaign that seems to be on endless supply.

I looked over at the guy she was dancing with and smirked, as he pulled her closer to him. He had a very tall muscular frame with golden skin. His hair was a perfect, messy dirty blonde while his bright blue eyes sparkled like gems as he took in Olivia. He looked whipped already.

Deciding not to bother her, I make my way back to where Cole and his mother were. When I arrived there, I didn't find either of them. I moved through the crowd aimlessly searching, finally finding Ms. Calvo.

"Excuse me, have you seen Cole?" I ask her, looking around at the crowd.

"Well of course, I was just talking to him," she deadpans with a smirk, causing me to roll my eyes as a smile tugs at the corner of my mouth.

"You know what I mean."

"No, he walked off," she shrugs, then takes in my expression. "Relax, he's probably looking for you. Here, I'll come with you," she says, for once using a kind voice.

I nod my head and the two of us make our way through the crowd, struggling to make it through the throng of bodies. We suddenly find ourselves on the other end of the room, near the bathrooms. I turn back around to look for him, but I hear his voice murmur something behind me.

I walk down the hallway and stop short when I see Beatrice and him standing in close proximity of each other. Suddenly, she presses herself against him and wraps an arm around his neck, deepening the kiss.

I let out a gasp as my heart shatters, watching as he stands still, and unmoving. I whirl around, hot tears on my face, breathing raggedly, unable to watch the scene.

"Cole!" Ms. Calvo yells angrily at him.

"Shale!" I hear his panicked voice call from behind me.

I don't want to be near him at the moment. The sound of his voice, sends me sprinting for the nearest exit, shoving my way through the crowd.

"Shale!" I hear him call desperately behind me, but I ignore it, instead, I hike up my dress and leave the building, letting the cool, fresh air hit my skin.

Tears spill down my face as I run down the street, flagging down a taxi. It comes to a stop and I quickly slide in, letting the sobs escape my lips. I manage to tell the taxi driver my address, before another wave of cries takes over my body.

I can't believe Cole! I thought we were going to last, at least longer than this. I didn't know how deep I had fallen until just now. I think I have fallen in love with him! And he doesn't feel the same.

"Ma'am, we're here," my taxi driver says softly as the car comes to a stop.

"T-thank y-you," I say, looking around the backseat for my purse. "Shit!" I exclaim, realizing I left it at the ball.

I throw my head against the seat as more hot tears find their way down my cheek. With a sigh I look up at the driver, ready to explain myself.

"Don't worry about it. It's on the house," he says kindly with a sweet, toothless smile.

"Thank you so much, sir," I say with a smile, sliding out of the car.

I stare up at my apartment building and let out a sigh, before making my way in.

Cole

"Bea, Shale is my girlfriend, has been for a few months now and I'm serious about her," I say quietly to Bea, hoping she'll understand.

"Cole, we both know it won't last. I know you better than anyone, you don't want that," she says, before pressing herself into me.

Her lips meet mine, taking over with a ferocity that shocks me, leaving me immobile, unable to move as her lips move against mine.

"Cole!" I hear my mother shout, giving me the opportunity to break away, shoving Bea off me.

I turn to her, only to find Shale beside her, her back to me and her shoulders shaking. My heart breaks realizing what she saw. She saw Bea kissing me, and me not doing anything to stop it.

"Shale," I say, moving towards her.

My voice must have triggered something, because she takes off through the crowd, shoving her way through the people. I start to take after her, but am held back by my mother.

"Shale!"

I try again, while my other shoves me back.

"Cole! What the fuck is wrong with you," she snaps, slapping my cheek, anger evident on her face.

"I didn't do anything! She..."

"Exactly, you did nothing, but let that whore shove her tongue down your throat," she says harshly, making my heart hurt more thinking about Shale.

"I didn't know what to do. I was shocked. I didn't think..."

"Do you ever think? That girl is my assistant and like a daughter to me, don't tell her I said that, and you just broke her heart because you were too stupid ad shocked to do anything. You're my son and I love you, but you fucked up."

"I know, just let me go and fix it," I say, trying to move around, when a hand grips my shoulder from behind.

"Cole?"

"Get the fuck away from me, Bea," I snap, shrugging her hand off and walking away, my mother beside me.

"Cole, you better go fix this, or I am going to kill you. I don't care if you're my son, no girl deserves this. Go!" she snaps, slapping my back as I move away.

I need to fix this!
