Mark's P.O.V
I went to sleep last night thinking about Jack's kindness after school the day before. And how cute he was when he smiled... and frowned... and spoke... and did anything in general. I didn't realize I was blushing until jack slapped me gently on the shoulder, making me look at him instead of the window.
"What's got your face red as a cherry?" He asked me, quirking an eyebrow.
"Uh..." I paused. How was I going to reply to that question?
"Yo, Sean. Why are you talking to that gay piece of trash?" A bitter voice said.
Jack turned around, crossing his arms. "It's Jack." He said blankly. "And why not? I'm friends with him after all. Why is it even your business?"
"Friends? Trash like that doesn't deserve friends."
"Trash like you." Jack said again.
"Fine. Whatever. You're a faggot just like him." Andrew snorted, the class laughing quietly. "Hey everyone, looks like we got a new Fag Boy!"
The class erupted in laughter once again, and Jack scowled.
"You're pathetic. Insulting people for their fuckin sexuality? All of you should be ashamed. What if someone walked up one day and told you that you were a disgusting human being because you liked a certain sex? You're the disgusting ones." He snarled.
A few people stopped laughing and frowned slightly, as if they were thinking, but by then the teacher stormed in the room.
"Sean! Mark! I heard your voices from the teacher lounge!" She snapped, stomping into the room. "I want you both out of this classroom, now!"
She pointed out into the hallway, giving us a bitter look while everyone turned to look at us. I looked at Jack and was relieved to see the same look of shock on his face.
Suddenly he grabbed my sleeve and tugged me out of the room. He kept walking until we were in the bathroom. Then he leaned into the wall where I had been yesterday.
After a moment of silence, I walked over and stood next to him.
"This is what you go though every day, huh?" He muttered, crossing his arms and staring at the floor. He looked extremely upset.
"Yeah... I'm sorry you have to deal with me." I said, a sigh escaping from my mouth.
"Don't even start." Jack said, turning to face me. "None of this is your fault."
His hand was lifted from his side and placed on my shoulder. I grinned slightly and a blush crept up my face. I saw Jack start to blush while he looked at me.
"Why... why are you so mad about what they said? It doesn't matter if you're not like... m-me."
"That's the thing..." Jack said quietly.
"I'm not straight."
