I was at the winters ball, I was not dancing. It is not my style, I guess. A man in a blue coat walked up to me, "Care to dance?" He asked kissing my knuckles. "Dancing is not my style." I replied. "Well, try! It will be fun." He smiled, offering his hand. I shrugged and gently took his hand to go dance.

I saw my father, he was off to the side talking. The man lead me to the middle of the ballroom, packed full of people. I put my hand on his shoulder and he put his hand on my waist. We started dancing. "So, what is your name?" He asked. "Y/n Washington." I smiled. His jaw dropped. "What is your name?" I giggled.

"Charles. Charles Lee." He smiled. He was very picturesque, very extremely. My father spotted me and Lee, he started walking to me. I pulled our hands apart, my father smiled. "Pa!" I smiled, hugging him. "Y/n, I see you have met Charles Lee." He smiled. I nodded. I let go of the hug, "Why not meet some of my other men?" He said.

"Goodbye! It was nice meeting you Charles." I smiled. My father lead me to men sitting on a staircase, "Bonjour! You are the general's daughter? Y/n?" A man asked me. "Oui monsieur!" I said. I curtsied, he kissed my knuckles. "I am Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier Marquis de Lafayette, call me Lafayette." He smiled.

My father looked at a taller darker man, he looked at him with a 'Don't even try' look. The other man stood up, he gently held my hand "I am Hercules, would you like to dance?" He asked, kissing my knuckles. "Okay." I nodded.

After meeting the men I ran off to try to find Charles. After a minute or so I found him, talking to a group of men. Me and the Schuyler sisters were the most wanted women, my father would not sell me off to marry some old British man. Our life is stable so I can choose my love.

I walked over to Charles, "Hi Charles!" I smiled. His friends pushed him closer to me, our chests bumped. He stepped back. "Y/n, you're back." He smiled. I nodded. "Should we dance for the last few minutes? Before it ends?" I asked.

"Yes, why not?" He said.
