Past Photograph [Viktuuri/Victuri] AU

Author's Note (Please Read!)

Hello, and welcome to "Past Photographs!"

I'm really excited about this, as I admit, I've only been in the Yuri!!! On Ice fandom for two weeks, and I'm deep-kneed obsessed!

Now, you guys are probably thinking this is going to be just 'another ghost! AU that someone thought up like all the others out there!'

Actually, this fanfiction is going to be much different from the other Ghost!AU's you see out there at this moment in time.

I have been reading lots of Viktuuri/Victuri Ghost!AU's the past few days, and I am not trying to give anything bad or rudely criticizing someone's work, but I noticed that a lot of the authors didn't do much research on the fanfiction.

Now, I know what your probably going to say: "It's fanfiction! Does it matter?"

To many, it might not. But to me, I does.

The Viktuuri Ghost!AU's I've been reading are not very realistic. I know Yuri!!! On Ice is an anime, and it's supposed to be 'fiction', but the anime is actually based of off real life. The characters are even based off of real people!

It's based off of real Figure Skating. Real people. And probably, along the way, real stories. It's not just an anime. I see Yuri!!! On Ice as a irl in anime.

I'm probably going to get a lot of hate from saying that, but it's true.

If you make a fanfiction that is supposed to be semi-realistic, please do your research.

Personally, I know a lot about the Paranormal stuff if real life (Some don't believe in actual spirits, but I do. First hand experience :) ), and so when I read a fanfiction with a Ghost!AU, but get the ghosts doing this:

1.)
Appearing with ease. Spirits need lots of energy to manifest themselves in a somewhat-physical form. It's not easy as 'poof!'

2.)
Spirits can't hold conversations like we can! Again, you actually need special equipment to do such stuff. Not like Viktor is going to have ghost hunting stuff, but really. It takes a lot of energy to do this.

3.)
Spirits can actually touch us and the things around us. Yes, this one isn't as big as others, as I have seen the few fanfics that have stuck to this rule, but most don't. It takes less energy to do so, but they can move simple things: doors, chairs, etc. They can also put a physical mark on people and surroundings. They're don't pass through everything...! They can get trapped behind a wall.

4.)
Another note with the physical-manifestation, a ghost finds it very hard to take a physical form. Even then, they are still ethereal, and can't be seen by every person in the room. They have their best chances during a thunderstorm, to manifest, as all the energy with the clouds/lightning.

5.)
I see in many Fanfictions where the main character catches the spirit on camera. This is actually very rare. Even professionals, when they catch even a piece of footage showing a door moving on its own, is considered rare. Even that is rare. So, it's not very realistic and real overall if the main character films the living room, and the next day see's a ghost walking across the floor. On the first try. Sorry, but it doesn't work like that.

6.)
The last thing I want to point out is that Spirits can give off cold/heat. Usually, it's cold, as the energy is opposite to that of living (duh), and I've seen a few times "_____ felt a surge of heat come through his body", or "He felt the sudden warmth of the dead figure in front of him." Sorry, but ghosts come up on camera as blue of black. They just have a colder energy output.

I know you guys probably really didn't care, but that was one thing that always bothered me. I know most authors just went 'huh? Ghosts aren't real just give me a fanfic to read', and in all honesty, that's okay.

I just wanted to put this out here, because this is real. Many authors put out a fanfiction that is meant to have a real world happenings in the story, and they flunk it. I just want to see some good, hard worked fanfics.

You guys can hate; I can take it.

But that's all. If you read all that, I really give you praise for having to deal with that. :,)

Otherwise, I really hope you enjoy the fanfiction! This /is/ my first Viktuuri/Victuri fanfiction that's I've written/published, and I hope I goes smoothly and you guys like it as much as I have writing it.
