Chapter 4:
willingly taken to hell

"Get up." Lana pulled the covers off of the sleeping boy, his limbs grasped by a naked girl at his side. "It's a brand new day!" Lana sang brightly, ripping open the dark curtains.

The girl opened her eyes first, gasping as she saw Lana—saving her dignity with a pillow. "What the fuck?"

Tossing her one of Eric's shirts from the top drawer, Lana motioned for her dismissal. "Trust me. He's not a morning person." Lana chuckled.

Eric grumbled against the mattress, shoving the girl—currently curled up to his side—away. "–th' fuck out of here. This wasn't a sleepover." He growled, making Lana shake her head and toss the purse to the bewildered girl.

"Trust me he gets worse—go before he opens his eyes." She pursed her lips, gesturing to the door as the girl stood up slowly, pulling the shirt on quickly to cover herself.

"Who are you?" The girl squeaked, her eyes wide as she stared back and forth between the boy in bed and Lana desperately.

Lana shook her head with the swish of of wrist, "Lana. You should move faster—"

"The fuck, Lana!" Eric suddenly erupted in a growl as Lana shooed the startled girl away quickly. "I swear to god you're going to go missing one of these days—and I'll have everything to do with it."

"Probably." Lana sighed, falling onto the dirty bed with a giggle.

Grabbing her arms tightly, he roughly slid her up to the headboard in a swift motion that left her arms sore and tired. He hovered over her, his dark hair falling into his dark eyes as he watched her with a glare.

Lana smiled, reaching up and touching his long straight nose. "Mornin', Bates." She cheerfully replied to his seething hatred burning deep in his eyes.

Bending down, his lips connected to hers, the warm spider-man kiss only lasting a short moment before he pulled back with intrigue replacing the hate in his expression. "I hope she had an STI and I gave it to you."

Lana's lips curled up in disgust as she wiped the ulterior motive kiss off of her lips. "Gross."

His lips barely even twitched up as a result but Lana knew it was his own little smile. She wouldn't have told him, but she was glad he could feel happiness. While the world and people inside of it were mere objects to him, and loneliness was inevitable, he still had moments like these when his guard was down and he smiled.

Eric's finger suddenly slipped into Lana's mouth—her teeth caught him as he seductively played with her. Her tongue touched his finger, his skin salty and bitter.

God knows where they had been.

"What brings you here?" He purred, laying down to observe her from a new angle; his thick locks falling to the side.

Sucking on his finger teasingly, she pulled it out with a loud pop like she had been enjoying a sweet treat rather than a germ infested manifestation. Eric shook his head, once again his lips twitching up amusedly.

"You mean I can't just show up for no reason?" Lana hummed as his fingers ran through her hair, smoothing his thumb over in circles on her temple.
