Things looked as if things weren't going to ever make sense in Riverdale. Polly's disappearance made things look much worse, and with her gone there were questions that couldn't be answered.

It also made her look bad, like she was Jason Blossom's killer. Not that anyone could come to that conclusion, but that was because nobody but the small group of friends knew.

And Mara knew it wasn't Polly. After knowing all these things that weren't even told to Cheryl, it was clear that Jason wanted things between him and Polly on the down low. It sounded like Polly wanted the exact thing to avoid the wrath of her family.

Often, Mara thought back to her conversations with Jason and Polly. She wondered if it were possible what others were saying — did Polly Cooper murder Jason Blossom?

It didn't seem possible, but maybe it was a crime of passion. Perhaps it was accidental. It may be because of something entirely different!

Mara couldn't bear the thought of Polly Cooper killing Jason. It just didn't seem right! They were so in love. Sure, there were problems — but there were always problems in relationships!

Wanting to help get to the bottom of the mystery, Mara was to meet Betty,  Archie, and the gang in the student lounge to talk about the disappearance of Polly and the connection of the car being burnt to Jason.

Sitting on the armrest of the chair Kevin favored so much, she noticed that Betty was extremely upset — which she had a right to.

"My Mom and Dad don't want to get the police involved. They dont want anyone to know she ran away, or about her shameful condition," Betty said, emphasizing on "shameful condition".

"Please. What decade is this?" Veronica sighed, rolling her eyes.

Mara bit her lip, preventing herself from saying anything to Veronica. Sure, it was the 21st century, but people still weren't very accepting. Maybe things were different in New York, but Riverdale is a small town. Always will be.

And small towns aren't very open to change.

"Also, since she knew where Jason's getaway car was, they're afraid people might think that she burned it and that if she did..." Betty trailed off, not wanting to say the awful words Jughead spoke up with.
