Blood.

Red dark splatters were the first thing that appeared in my vision. The rest was pure darkness, a darkness so potent it hurt my eyes to look at. The air felt icy cold and I could practically feel goosebumps rise on my skin. I tried to blink, speak, move, but nothing was happening. The bloody darkness was still there.

It felt cold in here.

What was here? Where am I?

My hearing senses came a second later. I could hear the faintest sounds of swords clashing against each other, small explosions and rain falling furiously against what I could only guess was wet soil. The smell of rain and fresh blood filled the air so strongly that it burned my nostrils. I shut my eyes tightly as a breeze of cold air struck me all of a sudden. The feeling of cold rain pouring down on me followed, hitting my cold trembling cheeks like icy bullets. I blinked my eyes open and the darkness around me began to fade, but everything seemed blurry, as if I were looking through tainted glass. The splatters of blood only increased as my vision cleared and what laid before me made me choke on a scream.

Dozens of bodies were scattered in what looked like a battlefield. The rain fell down on the bloody mutilated bodies, forming a red sea of blood around them.

I wanted to scream and run away from this hellish scene, run away from whatever this place was but my legs refused to move. Was I dreaming? Why was I seeing this? Granted, I had always had nightmares. It was an everyday thing for me ever since I was little but... this seemed different. My nightmares were always the same every night, but this was new. This was different. I could hear better, see better, feel better.

A bright silver lightning tore through the gray sky so suddenly that it made me flinch. My eyes followed the silver ray as it dissipated in the distance to reveal two tall shadows fighting, swords clashing against one another. I could see the faintests white and black explosions of dust around them and I did not want to stay here to find out what they were fighting over. I wanted to leave this place. I tried to move my legs over and over, tried to speak but my body refused to listen. All I could do was stand there and watch, trapped in my own body. My eyes drifted to the bodies at my feet, studying the bloody corpses. Some were destroyed beyond recognition, missing eyes and body parts, others piled over each other. Cuts and gashes marred their bloody tainted skin, entrails spilling around them.

Who were these people? Who did this to them?

My eyes locked on one that oddly caught my attention and I felt the air leave my lungs. Dirty blonde hair coated in crusty blood fell over a pair of dead teal eyes that gazed up into nothingless. A well sculpted muscular body that was mostly covered in a black tight suit, which was torn by a bloody gash that went from his right shoulder to his narrow hips. I didn't know him and yet he seemed oddly familiar. And I wanted to cry.

Why did I want to cry over someone I didn't know? Someone I never saw before?

My chest felt tight and it was harder and harder to breathe. It felt as if an icy blade was piercing through my chest, agonizing pain spreading to my heart like someone was tearing it out of my chest. The pain was so strong I didn't even realize tears had broke free from my eyes, falling steadily over my cheeks and mixing with the cold rain above.

What's going on...?

I was caught off guard as a pair of strong hands fell over my shoulders, gripping me tightly in a possessive manner. A masculine husky voice whispered in my ear, their hot breath blasting against my neck.

"You did so well, sweetheart. I am so proud of you... I knew you would not disappoint me. You have greatly exceeded my expectations... you are so perfect. My perfect doll." It felt as if a billion bugs were crawling all over my arms as the unknown man embraced me tightly from behind, making me squeeze my eyes tightly in response. His scent of ash and dirt was strong like a potent drug, filling my senses and making me dizzy. I choked on pitiful sobs the more I stood there, his heavy hands going around my body as if he couldn't get enough of me.
