Chapter 71: Lighting

Astrid Pov

A huge storm came to Berk, one of the biggest yet by far. We stayed at Berk for a while so we could spend time with our families, but this storm is really bothering me. But why the storm is bothering me, I'm Astrid 'Fearless' Hofferson, no storm shouldn't been bothering me. But they do, ever since the time I got blind, it pretty much scarred me. I was terrified being blind, because I'll never get to see Stormfly again nor Heather. Nor Hiccup, not seeing Hiccup made me panic.

Hiccup makes me giggle with that goofy grin of his or that awkward smile. And his eyes, those emerald eyes, I get lost by those. I sigh as I hear the rain hitting the roof of my hut. Then a lighting crack was heard and I jumped. I huddled my legs up to my chest, looking around. I blinked a couple of times to make sure that I still have my sight.

Then I looked out the window, seeing puddles being filled by the rain. Then I saw lighting strikes one of the huts as my eyes immediately closed shut. My breathing quickened as all I saw was darkness. Then I opened my left eye, seeing the desk across from me. I opened the other one, seeing my room. I sigh then I heard a knock. Why would anyone be out here at this time of crisis.

I stood up and went towards the door, as I opened it, I was Hiccup. Soak wet, I dragged him in.

"Hiccup what are you doing out there?!" I whispered/yelled.

"I wanted to see yo-"I covered his mouth.

"My parents are sleeping. Be quiet." I whispered as he nodded.

I grabbed his hand and leaded him to my room. As we got there, I quietly closed the door, then sat at my bed.

"Okay, now tell me why you were out there, soaking wet." I said, crossing my arms.

"I wanted to see you, and I want to check if you're alright." Hiccup said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Well, I thought you'd be scared since...well, you know."

"Oh, don't worry. I'm fine."

Then lighting stuck again as I jumped and closed my eyes. I opened them, seeing Hiccup with a worried face.

"You're not fine." He walked towards me and sat next to me."Let's talk bout it. Maybe it would help you to get over the fear."

I looked him, then I swallowed my saliva.

"Okay." I said as he smiled.

"Now," He grabbed my hand and gave it a little squeeze. "What do you think when you hear the lighting?"

"I think... I think that my sight would be lost again." I said.

"I'm going to tell you something, I'm afraid of this storm, everytime I hear the lighting...I just think you being or getting hurt, that terrified me."

"You're scared by the storm as well?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"Well... You are... Well Hiccup."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Not in a bad way, mean, you defeated the Red Death, almost got eaten by the Whispering Death, got captured by the Black Skull, also by Alvin and by Ryker."

"That'd doesn't mean I wasn't scared."

"You were?"

"Yeah, the thought of not seeing Toothless or my dad or you, it just gives me the chills."

I sigh as another lighting was heard, I jumped and closed my eyes. After a few moments, I opened them, not seeing Hiccup. I looked around till I felt arms around my waist. I turned around, seeing Hiccup with his awkward smile.

"How bout this, I'll stay here till the storm goes away?" He said.

"What bout your dad, or mines?" I asked.

"Don't worry bout my dad, and if I hear your dad then I'll jump out of that window." Hiccup said as he pointed the window.

"You do know my hut is big, right?"

"Yeah, but I have been way worse then jumping off from a huge hut."

"That's true."

Hiccup lays me down, snuggles closer to me. I felt him took a huge wiff from of hair.

"Gods, I love the scent from your hair." Hiccup whispered as I giggled.

"Don't be adorable." I said as I blushed.

"Why? I thought you love it when I'm adorable?"

"I do."

"Then?"

I turned around, looking deep in his eyes. Then I grabbed his collar and pulled him to a kiss, as he immediately kissed back. Things got interesting as I climbed on top of him, still kissing in the process. Hiccup slowly stood up, as I straddled on his legs. He quickly pulled away and took off his shirt, throwing it somewhere in my room.

I kissed him, running my hands around his chest. I got to his abs and started to rub them. He pulled away and looked down where my hand were, then he looked at me.

"Are you enjoying my abs?"Hiccup said with a smirked appearing on his lips.

"I love them." I said as I kissed him again.

He tugged the end of my shirt, as I pulled away a nd took off my shirt. Then went back to his lips. After a few minutes of making out, I heard heavy footsteps. My eyes cracked opened. I pushed Hiccup away as I panicked.

"What's wrong?" He asked as I covered his mouth.

"My dad." I whispered.

His eyes widen as he looked for his shirt. He found it and put it on. I grabbed my shirt and out it on. Then he went through my window. Before he jumped he gave me a kiss on the lips then jumped out. My dad opened the door.

"Hun?" He said.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"I'm just checking on ya, um... I'll go back with your mother." He then closed the door.

I let out a sigh as I looked out the window. I saw Hiccup was hanging. He looked up and smiled.

"Why, hello there."He said as I giggled.

I kissed him as he smiled. He let go, making him fall on his back. He lay there for a while then stood up.

"I see you tomorrow." He whisper yelled.

I nodded as Hiccup ran back to his hut. I smiled as I went towards my bed, then it hit me. I went back to the window, seeing not rain nor lighting. Maybe when Hiccup was here, time passed by fast. I went to my bed, as I lay there. I pulled my covers over me as I closed my eyes, the drifted to sleep.
