When we're on the car to Beacon Hills I look at Ethan. "I hate moving schools," I say.
"You could've stayed," he says.
I scoff. "Yeah right," I reply. "We both know that wouldn't have happened."
When we get to Beacon Hills. I grab my bags. We go into the apartments. "Alex," my father calls.
I look at him. "Yes dad?" I ask.
He throws me the keys. "You have your own apartment," he says. I smile.
"Thanks." I look at the number and get on the elevator. With some girl beside me. She looks my age. I put two of my bags on the ground.
"Do you need some help?" She asks.
"No thanks I got it," I answer.
She doesn't say anything for a moment. "Are you new?"
"Just moved here. I'm going to my apartment."
"You look my age," she says.
"I'm in high school. My last year," I reply.
She say doesn't anything else. I slide over a bag. "I'm one more floor up," I say. She grabs the bag.
"I'm Allison," she says. I smile.
"Thank god because I don't want a stranger in my new apartment," I reply. "My name is Alex."
She smiles. "You're quite the charmer," she says.
We get out and walk into my new apartment. I look at Allison. "I'd invite you out but it's late," I smile.
"Yeah," she agrees. "So maybe I can give you a ride on your first day of school?"
I laugh awkwardly. "Yeah that would be great," I answer. "I have no idea where I'm going anyways."
"This is going to be weird but can I have your number?" Allison asks.
I look at her for a second. "Yeah," I answer. She walks and hands me her phone. I put my number and everything.
"Great so I'll message you tomorrow," she says.
"I'll be waiting," I reply. I hear her smile. Damn wolf hearing. Allison is almost out of the door but before she turns to me.
"I hope you have a good night Allison," I say. "And thank you for helping me."
"Yeah no problem. Good night Alex," she says. That was interesting.
I put my bags down and sigh. Allison is actually pretty cute. It sucks she has to message me first. Maybe she'll be awesome and message me first thing tomorrow.
Someone knocks on my door. "I think it's open," I say. My father walks in with Kali. I stand and lean on the counter.
"I came to say goodnight," my father says. I go over and hug him.
"Goodnight dad," I whisper in his ear.
"We got you a bed and a frame," he says. "Couple of shelves in there."
Here is one thing I know for sure is I won't have to work a day in my life. Once I turn 18 I can go anywhere. No one can stop me either. Apparently my mom left me quite a fortune. Then there's my dad who left me a lot too.
They start walking out of the apartment. So I go look in my room. There is a bed king size bed. My dad wasn't lying when he said bed frame but it isn't set up.
This place has to have some food. It's late I'll go eat in the morning. So I lay down and look at ceiling. It's just me and my pack of alphas.
"Please don't," someone begs. I look at them. There's me. I'm probably four years old. A gun is pointing at me. Someone is trying to save me.
Why?
The gun goes off and hits me in the shoulder. I fall to the ground. I start crying. "Mom," I scream. Another gunshot went off.
When I wake up it's not even sunrise. I groan. I grab stuff and take a shower. When I'm done getting ready I head out to go get something to eat.
When I get to a diner I order some eggs and waffles. Some coffee too. I sit there eating my food peacefully. That's when I see Ethan and Aiden. "Your dad was worried about you," Aiden says. They sit down.
"I can take care of myself," I say. "It's not like I'm turning 18 in a couple weeks anyway."
"What nightmare was it this time?" Ethan asks.
I look and start playing with my food. "It was about my mom. I couldn't see her face but I know it was my mom," I answer.
Aiden reaches for something in his pocket. He slides my phone to me. "You forgot this," Aiden says. I pull out a twenty dollar bill from my pocket. I set it on the table and leave.
I know Ethan and Aiden will follow. "Alex," one of them call. More likely Aiden. "Do you even know where you're going?"
"To a furniture store," I answer.
