Continuation of Chapter 59.5
Avery's POV
"So, make sure you have my daughter home before curfew!"
"Dad!" Mia says as she looks at her father in disbelief. "Really?"
"I promise I will, sir," I say with a small laugh and I hear Mia sigh next to me. She looks a little embarrassed, and it's kind of cute.
"You better!" he jokingly warns and I hear Mia groan loudly.
"Come on, let's go," Mia says to me as grabs my hand and starts to pull me away from her father and towards the door.
As Mia pulls me I look back at her father. "I promise I won't keep her out too late," I say and he lets out a small laugh.
"Have fun!" he says as we head out the door.
"Geez!" Mia sighs as the front door closes behind us. "I feel like I'm fifteen again," she says as she lets go of my hand and goes to get in the driver's side of my car while I go to the passenger side.
"It's cute," I say with a smile as I buckle my seatbelt.
"It's annoying," she says with a sigh as she starts the car and backs out of the driveway.
"He just cares about you is all. He's just being a good father," I say and she gives me a sad smile, causing me to sigh.
"Can you stop looking at me like that, please," I ask and she glances at me with confusion.
"Like what?" she questions me and I roll my eyes.
"Like you feel sorry for me," I tell her. "I don't want you to feel sorry for me. I'm fine, really I am. I want to be able to talk about things like this without being pitied," I say and she turns and gives me a small smile.
"Okay," she says and I smile back at her.
"Thanks," I say and she nods her head a little as she keeps her eyes on the road. "So, you going to tell me what you have planned for our date?" I ask and she laughs as she shakes her head a little.
"Nope. It's a secret," she says as glances at me with a big smile set on her beautiful face.
"You're really not going to tell me after I so graciously let you take over our date?" I ask and she scoffs.
"Let me? Um, I don't really remember you having much of a choice in the matter," she says as she smirks at me, causing me to smirk back.
"You really think you got one by me, don't you?"
"Are you being a sore loser?" she asks and my smirk just grows.
"Oh, I really hate to burst your bubble, babe. But you didn't really win anything. I was always going to let you decide what we did, because I want to do whatever you want to do. So, really everything is pretty much going as I planned," I say and Mia stops smirking.
"You think you're really smart, don't you?" she asks as she turns to look at me.
"Oh, I know I am!" I say and I see her smirk again.
"Well, I really was going to break my no sex on first dates rule for you, but now you can forget it," she says and I roll my eyes.
"I know you're bluffing. You've made this threat one too many times now. You've always given into me," I say and she laughs a little.
"All those other times I wasn't really serious. This time I am," she says. No matter how serious she says she is, I still don't believe her.
"Maybe you are right now. But it's still going to happen because you always give in. You can't resist me and you know it!"
