Prologue:

Author’s POV

“Hijo, tomorrow na yung 18th birthday ni MK, don’t you think it’s time?” Tanong ni Mr. Ferdinand Monreal kay Seb.

“Dad is that really necessary? I don’t want him to experience what we’ve experienced. I mean dad, hindi ba pwedeng maging normal na lang ang buhay ni MK?” Mahinahong paliwanag ni Seb.

“Yes dad, I know it’s been a tradition sa family natin, pero kasi…” Sabi naman ni Jai.

“Naiintindihan namin kayo pero… Alam niyo naman bago namatay ang mga Lolo niyo, they made another silly contract and we can’t do anything about that. Buhay pa yung nagnotaryo ng kontrata’ng ito.” Inabot ni Mr. Marcus Cruz ang scroll sa mag-asawa.

Content:

   We, Marcus Cruz and Ferdiand Monreal, agreed that our grandson Maykel Kenjie Monreal and Henry Lopez and Lito Mender’s granddaughter Elizabeth Mender will get married if they reached their right age.

Agreement:

   Shall have date twice a week, when they reach the age of 18, so they can get-to-know-each-other.Ø

   The two will enter college at JCFM University. The course will be their choice.Ø

   The marriage of the two will be announced at their school, so that Elizabeth Mender can use the Monreal as her surnameØ

   IfØ someone is against the wedding of the two, (e.g boyfriend of Eliz or girlfriend of MK) he/she will be automatically kicked out of school.

   IfØ one of the family member refuse to continue the marriage, he/she will need to pay us 1,000,000,000 (One Billion) pesos in cold cash.

   AfterØ the marriage, divorce or annulment will not allow. The judge that will let them get neither the annulment nor the divorce will be fine of 1,000,000,000 (One Billion) pesos.

   They will live at one house after the marriage. The house will be design by both of us.Ø

   We will not allow them to stay at one roof before the marriage, early pregnancy is prohibited.

   THEØ ONE THAT WILL NOT FOLLOW THESE AGREEMENTS WILL BE FINE OF 100,000,000,000 (ONE HUNDRED BILLION) PESOS IN COLD CASH. BEING FAMILY IS NOT AN EXEMPTION!
