"MOM! Katniss is on fire! She's so beautiful! Quick! Come!" I say. Mother runs to me and says, "What? The Games haven't even start- oh! She's so beautiful! That would help her get sponsors." "Sponsors?" I ask. "Sponsors are those who give the things tributes need desperately. If a tribute catches their eye, they might choose to send money, food, medicine or anything a tribute needs to their mentor." Mom replies. "Oh. If I could, I'd sponsor her." I say desperately. "Me too." says my mother.

The next day, we had school. Everybody was telling me "Sorry about your sister." "Sorry about being reaped." even if I know most of them don't mean it. During lunch they broadcasted the tributes' first day of training and I saw that Katniss doesn't go to the bow and arrow station. Probably saving what's best for the private session with the Gamemakers our teacher told us about. Katniss stays with Peeta most of the time, but sometimes she does snares and other things by herself. And I realized Peeta learned something from the years of frosting cakes. He's a good painter and he can do camouflage well!

After the next two days of the tributes' training, it was the time for the private sessions with the Gamemakers. While we wait for the scores,I'm all giddy about it cause since Katniss knows how to use a bow, she'll get a good score, at least an 8. But when Peeta gets an 8 and Katniss' face shows up on the screen of our old TV, she gets the highest score- 11.

Me and my mother were very happy, but I do want to know what happened. I'm certain she used her bow and arrow skills, but that would have given her a seven or eight. What did she do? Or did the gamemakers just do that so she will be targeted? Were the gamemakers drunk or something?

I'm still hoping the Gamemakers weren't drunk yesterday. Now, the tributes are going to be interviewed. Will Katniss still be 'the girl on fire' like she was during the tribute parade? She might, and if she does that means sponsors will be lining up.

The interviews start with the girl from District 1, and I think her name is Glimmer. She's very beautiful and she won't have a hard time gaining sponsors probably. Then the boy from 1, the girl from 2... I remember some interviews, like the interview of the boy from two named Cato and Rue's interview, the girl from 11. Rue's very pretty, with the wings and all. Each interview only lasts three minutes and before I even know it, Katniss is on the screen.

"So, Katniss, the Capitol must be quite a change from District 12. What's impressed you most since you arrived here?" Caesar says, starting the interview. Katniss seems nervous and looks for someone in the crowd, but then she answers, "The lamb stew." Caesar and most of the audience laugh. I suppose it would really impress her because she doesn't get to have fancy food. It would impress me too. "The one with the dried plums?" says Caesar. "Oh, I eat by the bucketful." Katniss replies. "It doesn't show, does it?" says Caesar with horror and a hand on his stomach. Now, he continues. "Now, Katniss. When you came out in the opening ceremonies, my heart actually stopped. What did you think of that costume?" "You mean after I got over my fear of being burned alive?" Katniss asks. The audience laughs, and so do I. It's hard to believe Katniss can still manage a big laugh in this dark period. "Yes. Start then." Caesar says. "I thought Cinna was brilliant and it was the most gorgeous costume I'd ever seen and I couldn't believe I was wearing it. I can't believe I'm wearing this, either. I mean, look at it!"
