Scar kept an eye on Drew. He would sometimes close his eyes and Scar had to tap him on the shoulder.
They drove in silence. Scar was worried. Drew was loosing a lot of blood. She finally made it to the apartment.
Rosy and Ellie ran out. Scar got out of the car and they hugged her tightly.
"Scarlett! Where were you? We were so worried!" Rosy said. She was crying. Scar hugged them both back.
"That doesn't matter at the moment. Right now, I need your help. Well...Drew needs your help." Scar said, gesturing to Drew. Drew was so close to passing out.
"Oh my..." Ellie said. Rosy and Scar helped Drew out of the car. He whinced. Ellie held the door open as they went inside. They set Drew down on the couch.
"Your name is Drew?" Ellie asked him. Drew nodded.
"It's..." Drew grunted as Rosy took off his shirt. "Short for Andrew..."
"I'm glad you still know your name..." Scar said. Rosy grabbed two washcloths and wet them.
She handed one to Scar. Rosy started cleaning Drew' s chest. Drew whinced and grinded his teeth.
"Shh..." Ellie said messing with his hair. "It's okay."
Scar started to clean Drew's face. He had a black eye.
"You may have a small concussion from all that hitting." Scar said.
"Hitting?" Ellie said.
"My brother got in a wreck and died...My family beat me up thinking it was my fault..." Drew said slurring his words.
"Oh my..." Ellie said. "I'm so sorry."
"It's okay..." Drew said. His eyes were closing.
"Go ahead and get some rest." Scar said. She kept cleaning his face, trying to be gentle. Drew nodded and closed his eyes, falling asleep.
Scar stopped cleaning and looked at his face. She gently caressed his cheek. Drew shuddered in his sleep. Scar pulled her hand back. Drew's face looked like he was disappointed. Scar kept cleaning his face.
"So...tell us...Where were you?" Ellie asked.
"Harper took me to Club Thunder and I walked the long way home. Drew found me and said he was going to drive me home until he heard about the crash."
"Oh..." Ellie said. Scar looked at her. Did Ellie want her to get in trouble?
"It's okay sweetheart. I'm glad you are okay." Rosy said. "Honey you can go to bed. I can handle this." Ellie nodded.
"But-" Ellie started.
"I'll be in there in a bit. You get settled."
"Okay...Good night." Ellie kissed Rosy and hugged Scar. Scar was a little suspicious of Ellie.
"Night." Scar said. Ellie left them alone.
"So...Where'd you find this handsome man?" Rosy asked.
"Mom!" Scar said. Rosy put a finger to her lips. Scar looked at Drew then at the master bedroom. "Sorry..."
"Scar...You know you can tell me anything right?" Rosy asked.
"Yes..." Scar said, looking down. 'Does mom know? Am I that obvious?'
"Then tell me...I don't care what you are, you're my daughter." Rosy said.
Scar went over to her mom and hugged her. She started crying into her shoulder.
"I'm straight..." Scar whispered. It felt like so much weight was taken off of her as she said it. "I'm straight..."
"I know..." Rosy smiled. "I knew you were when you first came into this world."
Scar and Rosy stood there hugging each other.
"Who have you told?" Rosy asked. Scar looked at her mom.
"Harper. Mom I didn't tell you the complete story of what happened..." Rosy nodded.
"It sounded like it was lacking detail."
"Anyway...So the truth is Harper took me to Club Thunder. Drew works there and...Harper pretty much told him I'm straight...I ran off and started walking the long way home cause I didn't want to see Harper."
"Oh sweetheart..." Rosy said hugging her again. "It'll be okay."
"Mom...You don't get it...Drew's the one that Harper dated way back when." Scar said.
"Oh..."
