This is the story of a blind woman. She knows she's blind, for she can only touch, feel, hear, and taste. She wasn't born with blindness, she went through an accident that changed her life forever, A Fire.
Vulpecula Errunds, named after the Fox Constellation itself. She had lived a normal life. She had two parents, a dog who was a service dog that they adopted from a rescue shelter. The dog was young and still had a long life ahead of it, and so... when the lightning struck, it survived.
That isn't the same for the parents though, they were sleeping like babies. They never knew that a lightning bolt had zapped their cable machine and send 1,000 volts down and had struck the television and it exploded everywhere in the room causing a hot fire.
Luckily, their next door neighbors were ones with insomnia and would be able to sleep at all, they saw fire through the house's windows and immediately called 911. The firemen got there just a little too late.
The fire had melted the walls and had the master bedroom, Vul's parent's room, in ashes and flames. Too late to do anything about it. Yet, Vulpecula and her dog were just being evacuated as the fire started to burn her room and her belongings.
She kept looking in horror at the flames, the thing that killed her parents... and that nearly killed her.
6 years later
Vulpecula was graduating college and moving on with her adult life. She kissed her adoptive parents on the cheeks and hugged them for the life they helped her live.
Going through her entire school life was so much difficult, but she had a reason. She was blind, she couldn't see a thing. She's also never experienced true love.
Of course, she loves her parents but she only saw one color when it came to her adoptive parents, grey. Her life was full with colors that went from black to white. No cool or warm colors to brighten up her mood.
She longed to see the colors of the world, what the sunrise looked like on a lake in the morning. What the sky looked like when a solar eclipse happened. She wanted to see it all.
She was so upset with herself that she began to start a habit, cry every night before bed. She never wanted to hurt herself by depression physically, because she was already in enough pain mentally and emotionally.
One day, she gave up. She was at her job when this happened. She rested her head on her arms and sighed while looking somewhere to put her eyes, it's not like she would see what she's looking at.
Little did she know, she was looking at a man. This man, didn't know she was blind and was a little offended when she sighed while staring at him, was he ugly? Did he not do his hair well? Did he have something on his face?
Vulpecula got up and grabbed the leash for her dog, yes the one that survived the fire, and walked off to her office.
The man saw the dog and his eyes widened, it's not because something was wrong with him... she was blind.
He wanted to know more about her illness, he wanted to know more about her in general. He became interested in her. He wanted to know her.
He was sitting in his office one day and heard a loud noise. He rushed to find the woman on the floor with papers everywhere.
"Lilia! You know I can't see! But you still pull on me?!" She pouted and got up, "great! Now I can't see what I dropped!" All of a sudden a voice came out, a deep one.
"Here's your papers, I think there was a specific order in which you had them... but I picked up what I could!" He smiled. She knew, because she saw blues, greens, and purples. She saw colors.
Her eyes widened and she smiled and started hopping around and then turned back but she felt arms turn her a little more to one side and she smiled wider. She hugged the man and didn't care about the papers anymore, she cares about him.
To Be Continued.
