Collin's P.O.V

"California! Why there?" I asked my mom.

"It's a wonderful place and it's not my fault Wendy got a great job offer there," My mom said.

"At least we'll be closer to your brother," Wendy, my mom's wife, told me.

"But I'm used to New York," I tell them.

"You'll love California. Bella Edwards is there," Mom said.

"Bella? I haven't seen her since we were like kids!" I tell her.

"I'm sorry, Collin. If you want, I can decline the job offer," Wendy said.

Now I felt guilty. She made my mom happy and she was a nice woman. Better than my dad anyway. Wendy still felt like she intruded our family even though my older brother and I had already accepted her. 

"No. It was just way too sudden. That's all," I tell them.

"You sure?" Wendy asked.

"Yeah. Besides, how bad can California be?" I shrugged.

"Oh you're gonna love it!" Mom smiled before hugging me tightly.

"Yeah."

At night, I was on Skype with my brother, Chase. He was in California for university.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey. Mom told me the news of all of you moving down here," He said.

"Yeah."

"Well, let me just tell you, it's great over here," Chase said.

"Really?"

"Yeah. Also, remember Bella Edwards? The girl you had a crush on when you were kids?" He asked me.

"Yeah?"

"She grew up pretty," Chase said.

"That sounds wrong since the fact you're like older than her," I mentioned.

"I'm only like five years older than you. Besides, she's not my type and I didn't have a massive crush on her when we were kids," He teased. I scoffed at him before rolling my eyes. 

"Anyway, you're gonna love California," He told me. 

"I hope so," I said.

"How did you take the news when mom and Wendy told you?" He asked me. 

"I was in shock for a moment then I calmed down," I told him.

"Alright. I'll see you when you get here," He told me.

"Mhm. Bye," I said. 

"Later. little bro," I rolled my eyes before hanging up.
