Kim Haewon, also known as the goddess of archery of Class 3-2, was not expected to be a good student. Her talent wasn't studying, or as her father said, she was a little stupid. But her life took an unexpected turn when she failed to enter the National Archery Team, and her future came crumbling before her eyes.I know I said 'I'm going to prove everyone wrong when they said I wasn't school smart', but what the hell is this? It seems like our teacher took some extra time to make them more difficult. Yoo-Jung will kill me if I don't make it to the top 10 as I said I would. Why am I so petty and proud? Maybe, if I beg on my knees, she'll forgive me for wasting her time.
'God, if this is a signal for me to get a rich husband and be his trophy wife I'll happily do it.'
No, I made a promise to my brother that I'll give my best. He has been by my side since I was born, always encouraging me to do whatever I wanted. He's my safe zone and one of the precious people that I hold close to my heart. The last this that I want to do is disappoint him like last time (even if he says I didn't, I know he's lying).
The CSAT is very important since it determines the future of each student. It's my only way to continue with my life and stop disappointing my family. After failing to get into the National Archery Team, my father only gave me an option. To study and get into a good university. Easier said than done.
The problem is me. My grades aren't bad but they were never my priority. I trusted my abilities so much that now that they failed me, I don't know what to do. Technically, this is the fault of everyone who said I was an amazing archer and that I didn't need to worry about anything else.
I was also trying so hard because of Jan-soo. Strong and dependable Jan-soo. Also known as the love of my life. The boy I had a crush on for three years in a row. Unfortunately, I'm too much of a coward to make a move.
Back to the point, he heard me crying about the archery trials and that I needed to study hard and comforted me with his wise words and strong arms, and that beautiful face... I'm getting distracted. He said he was rooting for me and I don't wanna disappoint him.
After squeezing my brain out, I managed to finish the exam and gave it to the teacher. Slowly, I packed my things and went out of the classroom. This was the last class period and we could go home. Home, sweet home. Missing my comfortable bed, I started walking faster. If I hurry, I might be able to watch some new dramas before my parents arrive.
I saw a happy Deok-Joong run toward Chi-Yeol.
"Chi-Yeol! Tae-Man said minus one is the answer to the first short response question. I got it."
"Hey, I heard the answer was 144."
"What? According to whom?" asked Deok-Joong, looking surprised.
Lightly running, I caught up with them to answer.
"Ha-Na said so."
