- I Need Your Love ~ Calvin Harris ft. Ellie Goulding
I sat at the vanity table in my new chamber. Although the room was spacious and a few seconds of walking distance to the Pevensies', the room and entire castle had a cold, dark aura. Of course, it came from Miraz's presence from however many years he was here, but it left an impression on me.
When Caspian had left us to clean up before the feast, I had bathed and dressed in a cream gown with gold embroidery. It was silky, floor-length, and absolutely beautiful. My hair fell to my ribs in ringlets, courtesy of a Telmarine maid who was kind enough to help me.
A knock sounded from the door and I slipped my feet into dress slippers. I unlocked the door and poked my head into the hallway, spotting who was waiting for me. My face broke into a wide grin. "You ready?" Peter asked, craning his neck to see what I was wearing. My grin widened as I took in his outfit. He wore a red tunic, black pants, and black boots. Rhindon whacked his side, attached to his weapons belt.
I stepped into the hallway and closed the door behind me. "Why aren't you already at the feast?" I asked, wrapping my arms around his neck. Peter snaked his arms around my waist and pecked my lips. "Since we're courting, it seems only fitting that I should escort you. By the way, you look beautiful."
My smile only grew at the compliment, if that was possible. I probably looked like a Cheshire cat. "You look very much like the High King of Narnia, regal and handsome. Not that you didn't before, but you just look more royal." My rambling compliment earned me another kiss. "C'mon, we don't want to keep everyone waiting, now do we?"
I shrugged as we walked down the hall, our fingers laced together. "I dunno, I wouldn't mind too much if we delayed them. Just a tiny bit." A smirk crossed my Peter's face. "Oh really?" Uh oh. I shrieked quietly as I tried to run away from him.
"Pete! Pete, I'm wearing a dress!" I squealed, his arms wrapping tightly around my waist as he swung me around a bit. I was caught. Peter set me down, kissing my shoulder blade and rested his chin in the crook of my neck. I shivered as his breath fanned my neck.
I closed my eyes as he trailed his lips up my neck, my knees weakening immediately. I would've fallen to the ground if he wasn't holding me so tight. Suddenly, I felt Peter nibble on my earlobe and I gasped. "Sorry, did I scare you?"
I opened my eyes to narrow them at him. The grin on Peter's face was so wide I knew he wasn't sorry. I turned towards him, released from his grasp, with my finger jabbed at his chest when a very familiar voice called out, "Your Majesty! General Laurel!"
We turned to see Reepicheep staring up at us in amusement. Why was everyone giving us that look now? "Yes, Reepicheep?" Peter asked, his kingly persona arising. "His Highness Caspian was wondering where you two were and sent me to fetch you."
Peter's fingers slipped into mine. "We were on our way there now." he replied. "Ah, then let me escort you both, we wouldn't want you to get lost." I bit my lip hard as my cheeks heated up. Peter looked extremely amused as well, but didn't say anything. When we arrived at the Great Hall, I was surprised to see so many people. And by people I mean Narnians. Reepicheep led us to the very end of the table where Caspian, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy all sat.
I noticed two empty seats and flushed. One was the head of the table and the other was the seat on the right of the head. Peter naturally sat at the head with Caspian, Susan, and Lucy on his left. On the right was me then Ed.
"I see you two decided to join us." Caspian smirked. I saw a chance to make my Muggle childhood and I took it. "'A King is never late, everyone else is simply early.'" Peter furrowed his eyebrows, looking confused yet amused. "Where did you get that from?"
