We sat at Mrs.August's dinner table, devouring the chicken pasta she prepared for us three. I looked around the area, examining the decor. It's very lovely. It was silent until Mrs.August decided to clear her throat.

"So, Tamara, how have you been, my sweet baby," She smiled and reached toward me to lightly pinch my cheek.

"I've been....." Horrible.. "I've been fabulous," I fake smiled. "How have you been,"

"Honey, I've known you since you were in a diaper. We have had that life gap, but I still know when you're lying," She stated.

I opened my mouth and let out a sigh. "Well," I began to move my food around the plate with my fork, "I honestly don't know how I feel,"

Michael looked at me then rubbed my thigh in a comforting way under the table. I gave him a reassuring smile and a light shade of blush came over my cheeks. Mrs.August noticed how comfortable me and Michael had gotten, so she began to laugh nervously..

"I think I'm missing something here," She said folding her hands over the table.

I looked at him and a light laugh escaped my lips as he looked at his mom.

"Mom, we talk. That's all," He said, chuckling.

She squinted her eyes at us then smiled that lightly began to fade away. "Well, I...I just don't know if that'll be okay with the family because Tamara, they still think you're Chres's child,"

I frowned. That had taken me back. "No. He made it pretty clear that he had me removed from his life and he wanted nothing to do with me. I'm a problem," I mumbled the last part, but she heard me.

"Tamara, Chres doesn't think-," I put my hand up and shook my head.

"Don't. Don't defend him because he said some hurtful things that he will never be able to take back and that I will never forget. Him and his wife can go to hell," I crossed my arms over my chest and huffed.

"Sorry, sweetheart," she said

I just rolled my eyes. Whatever.

{later that night}

Michael and I were walking through the carnival holding hands and talking. He's like even sweeter than when I first met him. He won me a bear. A minion one at that. Now, we're about to ride the ferris wheel. I call it "The Wheel of Love". I giggled at the thought. He nudged me as we waited in line.

"Why you giggling," He asked.

"Mmm, just a thought," I gave the man our tickets as we boarded the ride.

We sat in a booth and I laid my head on his shoulder and held his arm while he wrapped his arms around my shoulder. He pecked the top of my head causing me to smile. This boy is amazing. Our cart made it to the top and stopped abruptly. I gasped then looked down and everything was dark. I began to panick before everything went black.
