Venus is genetically modified to look like a supermodel, as is the rest of the Yggdrasil Project. Her species was created entirely to cater to the whims of a futuristic human society.
Any and all whims. Which, in part, also include the much darker, criminal kinds.
She has been a victim of multiple assaults, which slowly led her more and more to realizing that she didn't want to serve as some desperate fool's punching bag, but rather, wanted to support a cause.
And so along came the rebel movement.
