The drive to Xander's house was pretty quiet. We didn't talk much, at all actually, except him occasionally giving me directions.  The lack of conversation didn't seem to make Xander uncomfortable, not at all. He was leaning against his seat with his head turned to the window. His eyes kept looking outside of it without focusing on anything in particular. On the other side I was here looking straight forward not even blinking. The straight up pose I was in showed how obviously uncomfortable I was. Am I the only one noticing the awkward silence in this car?

I reached out to turn the radio on when we stopped at a red light hoping to make the awkward silence a little bit less awkward I guess. I heard the familiar sound of Paradise City and immediately turned the volume slightly louder. Oh don't I love this song! My song choice seemed to spark some interest in Xander too, seeing as though he started to tap his fingers on his thigh rhythmically to the song.

I couldn't help myself from lip syncing when the chorus came on. I must have lost myself in it because I hadn't noticed Xander's gaze on me until he spoke up.

"You know this song?"

I jumped at hearing his voice but quickly caught myself before a squeaky sound left my mouth. What a jerk! But yet again I was the one that had her head in the cloud. I felt my cheeks start to heat up at my stupidity so I fake coughed to earn some precious time.

"Yeah, um, I've heard it a couple of times I guess." I shrugged trying to say it nonchalantly. I turned to look at Xander when I didn't hear a response only to find him sexy as ever.

He had now changed position, he was leaning against the cars door with his left knee resting on the seat. The rip on his knee showed his flesh underneath. The young man had his head leaning against the window glass looking down at me with those green eyes. His now almost dry hair had started to form the usual curly pattern and it was falling partially on his face.

I caught a breath and turned to look forward again. Gosh darn him and his looks! He looks like a freaking Greek god.

"Interesting." He muttered "you don't really look the type to ..." He shrugged not finishing the sentence.

"I don't look the type to ...?" I repeated his statement in a questioning form.

"Well you look more like the one didaction type." He said with a little dislike in his voice and turned his head to the right to look at the road.

Although I should probably feel offended, his statement made me laugh.

"Do you mean one direction?" I asked with a hint of amusement still evident from my laugh.  He caught my tone and rolled his eyes.

"Whatever they're called." I raised my eyebrows at him, well technically at the road since I was driving. "Why, what's wrong with 1D?" I asked barely keeping my laughter in.

He gave me one annoyed glance before telling me to stop.

"We're here."

I looked around and saw that we were In what look liked a fabric more than an apartment complex. I had scrunched up my face without knowing it, making Xander laugh.

"It used to be a tiles fabric but the owner couldn't afford it anymore so it got converted into a living space."

"But isn't it like dangerous to live here because of all the left over chem-"

"I told you it got converted into a living space with all the right living area conditions and norms."

I simply nodded. Why didn't I listen the first time? Me and my stubborn head. I guess him snapping at me had sent me in another place in my head and I didn't realize it until I heard that British voice talk.
