"You can do it come on. It's not that hard. Come on. Just get up." I say to myself. Mentally preparing myself for the day is always a challenge in itself. Step 1: Try to get enough energy to get out of bed.

"How about-" I roll over to my side to just end up falling off my bed and onto my butt.  "Ow. Okay, that's one way of getting out of bed." I got off the cold floor and into my bathroom.  "Water. Water should wake me up." I take a handful of cold water and splash it on my face. The hairs on my neck stand from the sudden cold. I brush my teeth and wash my face. Then I go into my closet.

"Okay, the big question. Do I want to be lazy or productive today?" I say going through my clothes. I dig out some blue sweatpants from a pile. I decide lazy but I will do some stretching later. I change into a white crop top and the blue sweatpants. I slip on my split sole ballet shoes and finally tie my blonde hair into a messy bun. Then I hear a knock on my door.

"Come in," I say. The door slowly creaked open and Dobby, one of our many house elf's, came in wearing his usual old dirty pillowcase for clothes. Poor thing. I really wish there was something I could do to change his situation. He bowed before speaking, "Good morning Miss Malfoy. Your breakfast is prepared for you downstairs as is your family waiting for you to come eat." Dobby said in a shaky voice.

"Alright well, best not keep them waiting any longer," I say. Dobby quickly opened the door wider for me to walk through. I nod my head as a thank you and head downstairs where I see Draco, my Mother, and my Father sitting down waiting for me at the table.

"Good morning," I say sitting down next to my brother, who piled his plate with bacon.

"Good morning darling. How'd you sleep?" Mother asked. I took some eggs and toast on my plate while another house-elf filled my cup with coffee. "I slept well." Mother smiled and started to eat. "Draco? Do you have anything planned for today."

"Not really. I'm just going to play some Quidditch."

"Dani what about you?"

"Well, I was hoping we could all go to Diagon Alley today?" I said looking at my Father. He finally looked up from the Daily Prophet newspaper. "I would love to take you two to Diagon Alley darling but I, unfortunately, have a lot to do for work today."

I try not to look so disappointed. "That's okay" It's only the 4th time you've used work as an excuse. Draco scoffs and furrows his brows in frustration.

"Besides, you two haven't gotten your Hogwarts letter yet." Mother said taking a sip of her tea.

"But our birthday was two days ago. the letter should've came on our birthday!" Draco expressed. "What if we don't get in Hogwarts?"

"You will both get into Hogwarts. It's only been two days just give it some time. And if not Hogwarts, there are other wizarding schools." Father says.

"Yes but we both want Hogwarts," Draco said.

"And those other wizarding schools are too far from home," I say.

"Some other wizarding schools also have better classes that'll teach you more things, Daniella. Did you think of that?" Mother said. "Like Beauxbatons Academy of Magic or Drumstrang. They are very fine wizarding schools."

"You're not listening, Mum. They are very good schools but they aren't Hogwarts. I've read so many books about that school and Draco and I've have been itching to go there since we were children! So forgive us if we are a bit impatient to get our letters!"

Mother eyes snap toward me, "Watch your tone. I will not have you raising your voice at me at the table. Do you understand?" she said, sternly.

"Yes, Mother," I say, stubbornly. It was all silent except for the clinks and clatter of the utensils and cups. Draco clears his throat, "Well I'm full. Dani, what about you?"

"Satisfied."

"Can we be excused then, mother?" Once she gave us permission to leave I took my coffee cup outside to the garden while Draco went upstairs to get his broomstick. I go into a straddle to start off my stretching routine. Breathe in. Hold. Breathe out. Count to 20 for each leg. Breathe in-"Hi little sister!" Draco yells in my ear. I jump and let out a loud scream. Draco merely laughs and flys up on his broomstick.

"Draco Malfoy! That wasn't funny!" He flys a bit closer to me with a sly smirk. "Well, it was funny to me."

"Ugh, you're so annoying! I hate you." He laughs again. "I love you too little sister."

"We are only 2 minutes apart!"

"Doesn't matter!"

I groan and return to my stretches. What a prat. He never knows when to leave me alone. Once I'm done with my stretches, I take a sip of my coffee and lean back in my chair to feel a cool breeze. I should've brought a book with me. Ugh, but the library is so far from here. I lug myself up to go to the library when I hear Draco call me from the sky.

"Dani! Dani!"

I squint from the sunlight and try to make out his silhouette. "What?" He pointed frantically. "Behind you! The owl! Behind you!" I slowly turn around and there is an owl flying towards me. As it gets closer I can see it more clearly. Its caring two letters in its beak. I feel a growing sensation of excitement in the pit of my stomach.

The owl landed on one of the stone statues. I took the letters from its beak and gave him a little scratch on its head before it took off. I turn the letters over and there it is. The official Hogwarts seal. These are Draco and I's Hogwart letters.

"Draco. Draco! They're here! Draco, our Hogwarts letters! This is it." I squeal of joy. Draco zooms down and snatches his letter. I rip the letter open and read aloud,

"Dear Daniella Malfoy,

I am pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please follow the list of requirements by when the term begins on September 1. We expect your owl no later than July 31.

Yours sincerely,
Professor McGonagall."

I jump on Draco laughing from excitement. "We're going to Hogwarts! We're going to Hogwarts!" He squeezes me tight laughing as well. "I know! I know! I know!"

"We have to tell Mum and Dad!" I turn to race back into the house then I feel Draco tug at my wrist. "What?"

"I have a faster way," He mounted his broom. "Jump on."

"There is no way I'm going on that. You know I'm afraid of heights."

"Come on, its more fun this way."

"What if you drop me?"

He rolls his eyes, "I'm not going to drop you if you just hold on tight." I purse my lips but reluctantly get on. I grab his waist tightly. "Close your eyes." I do as told and feel my feet lift from the ground. The nice, cool wind blows in my face but I try hard not to think of the ground.

Once everything feels still again I crack open one eye to see we're at the double doors to the manor. I jump off the broomstick immediately. Draco lets out a small laugh while shaking his head. "It's really not that bad." I roll my eyes. "Yes to you."

"No in general. It's actually really fun and relaxing at times."

"Mhm, to you."

We continue to bicker as we go into the house which alerts my parents from the living room. My mother lets out an exhausted sigh. "Alright what is it now you two?"

Draco and I share a look and decide its nothing. "Nevermind that. Look at what we just received." I dramatically bow as I hand her the acceptance letters. My mother's eyes widen and she lets out a small scream. "Lucius look!" She takes his papers from him and shows him the letters. He lets a smile escape.

"Well didn't I tell you two it would come." He gives each of us a hug and tells us to expect to go to Diagon Alley next week as its now of importance. "Like it wasn't important when I was constantly asking and annoying you to take us, Father." We all share a laugh then head to the garden to have lunch. Mmm, I can already smell the honey chicken.
