Skyler gazed out of the old car window, the first thing she saw was a lone wolf wondering aimlessly through the woods. Her father told her that there was no wolves where they were. She turned to her father.
"Father, I thought you said that there weren't any wolves in this area?" She asked.
"There aren't any," her father responded, "you must of imagined it."
Her eyes turned away from her father and back to where the animal once stood. She knew it hadn't actually been there. She assumed she was just tired. That was until she saw the beautiful creature again, but this time, blood throughout it's fur. Skyler gasps thinking how it was probably writhing in pain. Skylar's heart skipped a beat.
"Dad, stop the car!" She screamed.
Her dad swerved at the sudden outburst, nearly wrecking into the car beside them. Once he found the room to pull over he turned to question Skyler, only to find an open door. Skyler had rushed out of the car, disregarding whatever her father was shouting. Skylar looked at the animal with panicked eyes. 'Would it survive?' She thought to herself. When her father caught up to her, he was out of breath.
It was silent for a few moments before her father broke it. "What in the world where you thinking? Do you know how dangerous it was to jump out of the car and onto the highway!"
She stared at her father as if he'd just kicked a puppy.
"What do you mean, 'what was I thinking?' Skyler yelled,"Can't you see he's badly injured? We have to help him!"
"What are you talking about?
There's nothing there!" Her father looked almost uncomfortable.
"C'mon." He tried to get her attention. "We're starting getting stares, so we need to go."
Skylar screamed and protested, but she was no match for her fathers strength. He dragged her back into the car. Skylar pounded on the windows and screamed for him to stop the car. Her father had fear in his eyes for something had to be wrong with her. He took the nearest exit, hoping a hospital was somewhere near.
