Of Flames and Stars

Lying with you in the summer night,
Staring up at the pitch black sky,
Knowing you'd be with me forever,
Together, we would fly

As we gazed up at the stars,
I traced patterns with your finger
Watching the shining constellations,
In your eyes they ever linger

Your brilliant smile and radiance,
The fire burning in our hearts
The flames will last forevermore
We'll never be apart

We sat there, with tranquil silence
Inert on the ground
Then I looked into your eyes,
I couldn't believe what I had found

The stars hiding your eyes
Unseen, through and through
But can the stars the come out tonight?
The only light I need is you

Once more, once again you spoke,
and all I could say was "Why?"
The warmth of a million suns disappeared,
Stolen by your one soft goodbye

We'll always be together,
or atleast that what you said
So why is it you're telling me now,
That you're leaving me for dead?

The tears cascading down your face,
Hurt me more than you know
Cause' the pain of you being out of reach
is a pain I'll never show

I thought it would last forever
This star lit bliss within
Yet ever since you left me here,
The fire within grows dim

Maybe one day I'll see you again
And our stars will align once more
Maybe one day we'll meet again and say,
"This time we'll last for sure."
