My Next Door Neighbor Joe Sugg

Chapter 13

As Joe was editing his new vlog, I looked over my interview with Conor online. My boss has approved it and it was now published. Conor sent me a text just as I finished reading it.

Conor: Hey good job on the interview! Just read it and I loved it 😊

Me: Thanks, you were great!

I chuckled and turned to Joe who was walking out of his office. "What are you laughing at?" Joe asked and sat down next to me while putting his arm around my shoulder.

"Conor texted me and said he read my article. He said he loved it!" I snuggled into Joe's chest as he petted my hair. He was wearing his pink hoodie and he felt so warm. I heard him chuckle as he placed a kiss on my forehead.

The doorbell rung and I looked at Joe confusingly. He shrugged his shoulders and walked over to answer the door. I sat up and started working on my other interview with Zoe.

I heard someone scream Joe's name and the door shut loudly. There was some shuffling and laughing. I curiously put my laptop down and walked into the hallway. I stopped when I saw Joe hugging a girl.

Joe looked extremely happy and he was laughing. I've never seen him this happy with me before. I cleared my throat and Joe stepped away from the girl. She looked at me, still smiling.

"Vanessa this is Britt, Britt this is Vanessa. She lives right next door to me." Joe walked over to me and put his arm around my shoulder. I smiled and said hello.

A/N- I totally respect Joe and Britt's friendship so whatever happens in the book isn't how I really feel. It's just a fanfiction guys, it's not real!

"Hi! I'm one of Joe's friends. Sorry I came here unexpectedly. I wanted to surprise Joe!" She smiled widely and picked up her luggage that fell on the floor. I felt relieved when she said friend and I loosened up a bit.

"I should call Oli and surprise him! He'll be so happy to know that you're here." Joe grabbed Britt's bags from her hands and took them upstairs.

I looked back at Britt and smiled. "So you're staying here with Joe?"

"I always stay with Joe! I'll only be here for a week but we always have fun together." Her smile never left her face and she spoke in a bright and perky tone.

I nodded and turned back to the living room as Joe walked down the steps. Joe whispered something to Britt and she gasped and ran up to me. "You guys are dating? That's amazing, looks like Joe finally got a girlfriend!" She hugged me tightly.

I sat there awkwardly and glanced at Joe. He was smiling widely and sat next to me. "She's all mine and I'm never letting her go." Joe kissed my cheek which made me blush.

Britt let out a small chuckle and asked Joe when Oli was coming over. He was visiting later in the evening, thinking Joe and him were going to film a video. She laughed and began discussing different ways to surprise Oli with Joe. I felt a bit left out since I've never met Oli and Joe seemed really excited to have Britt over.

I sighed and sunk further into the sofa. Joe didn't seem to take notice and kept talking with Britt. She glanced at me and smiled a little too sweetly at me. I was confused but I shrugged it off.

Oli was coming up the elevator as Britt ran and hid in Joe's office. I sat on the sofa, looking at my laptop. Joe kissed my cheek before running to answer the door as Oli knocked.

Joe invited him inside and he looked at me confusingly. I smiled and waved as Joe introduced us. He put his bag down which made a thump. "That's all my recording stuff." He explained to me and laughed softly.

"Oh Oli, I want to show you something in my office." Joe signaled Oli to his office and winked at me as he followed him behind. Oli opened the door and out came Britt. She pulled him into a tight hug and all three of them laughed.

I sighed again as they stood there for about five minutes. Oli then broke away from the hug and yelled at Joe for not telling him Britt had arrived.

After they all settled down, they gathered in the living room as Britt said she had gifts. Joe sat very close to me and Oli stared at us. "Hey Joe, I saw your vlog on my way here. Are you guys dating or did I misunderstand the whole video?"

"Nope, say hello to my lovely girlfriend! I just want everyone to figure it out on they're own before I announce it." Joe picked me up and sat me on his lap. My face flushed as I glanced embarrassingly at Oli.

"Joe, this is embarrassing! Put me down!" I tried to get off but Joe wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him.

Oli laughed and Joe snuggled into my neck. Britt came down the stairs with two bags in her hands. She handed one to Oli and the other to Joe. "Sorry Vanessa, I didn't know you would be here." Britt shrugged and sat between Oli and Joe. I felt a bit of sadness but I understood her.

Oli opened his gift first. It was a new small tripod for his vlogging camera and a bag of chocolates. He thanked Britt and hugged her.

Joe opened his next. There was a bag of candy corn and nuts. He looked hungrily at them and pulled out a mug next. Britt ran to the kitchen and had the same one in her hand. "Now we can have matching mugs!"

"This is great! I love it, thanks!" Joe smiled at Britt and she sat back down on the couch.

I was feeling pretty jealous at this point and I was beginning to feel worried that she was going to stay in Joe's apartment for a whole week. I know I can't stay over either and it made me want to scream. Although I'm sure I can trust Joe.
