1990. Athens, Greece
"Winter, you ready for this one? I'm sure we're going to have a blast together."
"Stop talking. We're landing soon."
"You're no fun." She huffed and leaned back in the seat, crossing her arms.
To sum up the four hour flight to Athens: this is what I've had to deal with. Her and her nonsense. At least she stopped talking-after me telling her to shut it seventeen times, nonetheless.
For another ten minutes, I was surrounded by peaceful silence, but it ended by the plane landing. I grabbed my semi-automatic and checked the magazine. She followed in suit. Instead of a semi, like me, she carried a sniper case disgusted as a backpack. Knives were clipped to her belt, along with a handgun.
I moved to grab my mask and goggles, but her lean hand stopped me. Silently, I looked up at her. "You really need that now? It's pitch black out." I growled and took both of the headpieces out of her hands.
"Yes, actually I do. And you need yours, too." Recently, Hydra wanted to be more secure and secretive about her identity, so they made her a cover for the lower half of her face. It was identical to mine, but she did not have goggles.
We both clipped in our ear pieces, which were already synced together. By the time that was finished, the plane had landed.
"Ready yet, Winter?" She said impatiently. I rolled my eyes at her childish acts, even thought it was unnoticed by her. I mumbled a response and pushed my way past her.
She muttered something under her breath and chased after me, eventually walking three feet in front. I noticed how there was an extra spark in her step as she walked, also the noticeable extra swing of her hips. While her giddy steps led, mine were completely silent.
She glanced back to me and that's when I saw it again. My moon. The way her pale skin contrasted against the black of her skin tight-
"Did you even listen to what I said, Winter? or is someone too busy admiring something they aren't getting?" She smirked.
"Keep your voice down. What did you say?" I stopped, noticing we were at the correct building.
"I said," she emphasized, "that wouldn't be more, I don't know, fun if we didn't just snipe the dude from his hotel room."
"Fun isn't the mission. We need to kill him and get out." She groaned at my answer. While she was complaining, I was the one who started scaling the building through the fire escape. I was silent while she drug her feet. When we both reached a platform, I grabbed her throat with my left hand and shoved her body against the wall. Not too hard, but enough to prove that I wasn't kidding around.
"You're going to get both of our asses caught, you idiot."
She pushed against my hand, gritting her teeth, "well maybe if someone was open to enjoyment I wouldn't be acting like this."
I growled and released her neck to continue climbing. She followed, completely silent this time.
When we reached the roof, the two of us walked to the west wall, which faced a hotel where our soon-to-be victim was waiting. I took watch while she too the backpack off her shoulders and starting attaching the rifle together. She laid down against the gravel and looked though the scope. As she did, our assignment had received a call of the phone and was standing right in front of the window.
"Right on time, bastard." She mumbled before pulling the trigger. Astonishingly, right through the heart, killing him almost instantly. His limp body fell to the floor as she quickly hurried to dismantle the rifle.
Before she was even able to shove all the parts into the backpack, the hotel room door of the man was busted down, several men in black suits came in. One ran right to the shattered window and nearly spotted us. Before he was able to, I practically tackled her to the ground, keeping our body as close to the floor as possible.
"Well Winter, if you wanted me that bad, you could have just told me." She smirked under me. I ignored her comment as I stood and checked for the men to be gone.
"We need to go. Now."
I didn't even wait for her response before grabbing her wrist and running to the side of the building. We jumped from roof to roof before we got close to the ground. All of the sudden, gunshots were heard close behind us. I saw her smile and stop. Two men were chasing after us, guns raised. She grinned and pulled two knives from her belt. Without a seconds thought, she flung both forward, effectively taking down the tall men.
My eyes widened a little in shock. I'd never seen her do that. Shooting, sure. But not knives. I didn't dwell on it as we jumped off the building. With my right hand, I wrapped it around her waist and my left dug into the side of the building, slowing our fall.
The plane was waiting for us right in position. The second we made it onboard, we took off. Travel back to the prison some people called home.

"Mission report, Soldier."
"Successful, sir. Target was eliminated." The man nodded then looked to her.
"Miss, do you agree?"
"Yup." Her eyes still shone that excitement from killing. The whole trip back, she couldn't contain herself. Thankfully, the adrenaline died out and she fell asleep for about half the ride.
"Very well. You're dismissed."
We both stood and exited the room. She was allowed to go back to her sleeping quarters for a night off while I had to go back into cryostats SPELL.
There were no guards around, leaving us to our own. Before she turned her way down the hall, she surprised me by reached up and pulling my head down slightly. She leaned up to my ear, "see you whenever they wake you, Winter." She then placed a surprisingly sweet and light kiss to my cheek before quickly detaching and waking away, as if it never happened.
I watched as her black suit began to blend into the darkness and she got farther away.
"See you then, my moon." I then turned and walked the familiar patterns of the halls.
