Manik was about to leave the studio when Nishita Kapoor stopped him midway. "Are you leaving right now?"

"Yes. The shoots over, so am heading home."

Nishita checked the time on her mobile. "Its just 4pm, a young man like you shouldn't go home at this hour."

"Then what do you suggest I do?" Manik replied curtly.

That's what she liked about Manik, that he didn't suck up to her like the hordes and hordes of new comers who swarmed around her day in and day out. This guy was ambitious too, and you could see that in his eyes, but he was ambitious and self-assured. He didn't seek any kind of validation, and had the guts to speak his mind, no matter where he was standing or who he was facing. She liked it, she liked it a lot. "You should go clubbing, you know socializing is an important part of this world. In fact, I would go to the extent of stating, the work you do in front of the camera and the preps you put in for it, are only parts of your job , the rest majorly comprises of making new contacts and maintaining old ones. That's how you grow here."

"Agree, but one size doesn't fit all. My profession is only part of my existence, the other half is the life that awaits me now, beyond my work hours. It's the other half that drives me to strive harder here and not the other way round. So I better head home, whatsay?"

"You are a tough nut to crack, Malhotra. But if you say so....By the way, which way are you heading?"

"Lokhandwala"

"Awesome, I am heading that way as well, you don't have a car do you?"

"Not yet."

"I can drop you."

"Thanks for asking but I'll manage."

"It's not a big deal. I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't headed that way. C'mmon."

They left the studio and were about to get into the car when it suddenly stuck Manik that Nandini won't be home yet. "Mrs. Kapoor, I am sorry, I just realized I have to go to Colaba instead of Lokhandwala. I have to pick my wife."
