FLAME
I don't like the looks of this. I watch as Rex approaches Kiana. They had been hanging out a lot. Too much. I had heard he was in the Otherworld but I didn't believe it. He sits on the bench beside her and they start talking. I shake my head. Rex was a very dangerous person, so was his father. I walk up to them.
"Flame? What are you doing here?" Kiana eyes me suspiciously.
"To warn you, Kiana," I glance at him, "Stay away from him. He's nothing but bad news."
"And what? You're good news?" she raises her voice.
"What?"
"Don't tell me what to do Flame. Ever since I met you my life took a drastic turn so if anything, you're the bad news."
Rex looked amused. I scowl and mutter "don't say I didn't warn you" before walking off. She has no idea what she's getting herself into. She doesn't have any idea the sort of power she holds. I shake my head. Her mother was desperate when she sent her family to the Otherworld. Unfortunately, the consequences have started. It's really a pity, she could have been the greatest leader of the magic realm yet. I head back to Reddington with hope that the others have figured out a way to bring her to our side and defeat Rex and his father.
***TWO MONTHS LATER***
KIANA
I look up as the door to my room opens.
"Hey dad." I smile.
He smiles, "Hey princess, you have a visitor."
"Who?"
"Take a wild guess." He sighs.
I laugh. I was almost certain it was Rex. He's a hazard when it comes to my dad. Speaking of Rex, a minute later he pushes past my dad, into my room and plops down on the bed next to me.
"Thanks for announcing my presence Mr D." Rex smiles his usual charming smile.
My dad groans and leaves as I laugh. I remember two months ago when I had met him and despised him. He had that magic essence about him and I had hated all of them. I thought he was from Reddington too. Flame had called him out as an enemy to their kind: the day my life really changed. Rex poked my cheek, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"What're you thinking about angel?" he inquires.
I roll my eyes, last week, he had come up with this stupid nickname for me; angel. He refused to drop it.
"The day I got to know you...the real you." I add.
He smirks, "Yea, what an amazing day wasn't it?"
I shove him and he laughs. I had almost died that day.
***FLASHBACK***
"What was Flame talking about Rex?" I question him once Rex leaves.
He shrugs with a hint of amusement in his eyes. I narrow my eyes at him and get up. Three hours later and I'm back in the park in the evening for a walk. I walk absent mindlessly and run into someone with a hard chest. I would have thought it was a brick wall if not for the strong arms wrapping around me, breaking my fall. I look up and meet a pair of black eyes. I step out of this strangers embrace. I could feel it. That energy that rolled off Rex, Flame and the others. I internally groan...not another one.
"Hello." His voice is thick with an unrecognizable accent...it's actually kinda hot.
"Um, hey." I say awkwardly.
"Are you Kiana?" he asks.
I look up at him with shocked eyes and voice my thoughts," How did you know that?"
A smirk takes over his face and before I know it, I'm over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes as he takes off into the night. I kick and pound on his back trying to wriggle out of his hold but no use. He's freakishly strong. Stronger than me. Then again he's probably a wizard or something. I go limp and let him carry me, saving my energy for when we arrive at our destination. After running, jumping, climbing and goodness knows what we finally stop. He puts me down and I look around as a strong breeze blows through my hair. We're on the roof of freakin' Reddington! I gasp and turn to him.
