It was the summer of 2018, the California sun beat down on Mark Fischbach's silver Toyota as it roared up the winding dirt road. "Mark, slow down!" Amy said worriedly. "Honey, it's fine. I'm a great driver, haven't you seen me play Mariokart?" Mark joked. Amy rolled her eyes and turned to the window.
In the back seat, the beautiful golden dog, Chica, leaned against Ethan, drooling on his shoulder. Ethan grimaced as he felt the warm saliva drip down his shirt. "Maaark! Chica's drooling on me again!" Ethan whimpered. Mark whipped his head to the backseat, "Chiicaa, what did I tell you about exchanging fluids with the blue idiot?" He chuckled.
Before Ethan could respond with a witty comeback the car turned a sharp corner, throwing Ethan and Chica onto the lap of the sleeping Tyler. Chica's long tongue extended out and met Tyler's ear with a slobbery kiss. Tyler jerked awake as he squirmed away from the unwanted affection.
Pushing himself up, Ethan's hand brushed against Tyler's and then gripped his inner thigh. Ethan quickly pulled his hand away, his cheeks flushed bright red as he muttered under his breath, "Sorry."
He ducked his head to avoid Tyler's gaze and turned to pet Chica, "Who's a good puppo?" Ethan said in a schnoogle talk voice. Tyler glanced over at Ethan, why is he acting so weird? He thought and then proceeded to fall back asleep.
After several hours of long winding roads they finally arrived at their destination, they began to set up their tents and prepared to make dinner. Mark and Amy had no trouble setting up their own tent, but Ethan and Tyler were struggling just to get theirs out of the bag. After wrestling with the difficult mechanics of the pop-up tent they settled down to eat burritos.
After dinner, the four friends sat around the fire roasting marshmallows. "Why don't you play us something on your ukulele, Ethan?" Amy asked. "Oh, I don't know," Ethan replied abashedly. "Yeah come on, play us a song," Mark said encouragingly. "Okay, fine." Ethan got up and grabbed his instrument from the back seat of the car and sat back down. He shifted nervously before he started to sing, his angelic voice echoed in the crisp night air.

"A great big bang and dinosaurs
Fiery raining meteors
It all ends unfortunately
But you're gonna live forever in me."
Ethan stopped as he hit the wrong cord. "Fuck!" he exclaimed. He looked up to see his friends' shocked expressions. He shrugged before he continued the song.
"I'll guarantee, just wait and see
Parts of me were made by you
And planets keep their distance too
The moon's got a grip on the sea
And you're gonna live forever in me
I guarantee, it's your destiny."
Ethan trailed off again when he noticed Tyler's eyes gazing at him across the flickering orange light of the fire. His heart swelled as he stared into Tyler's ocean blue eyes. He blushed a little and started to sing again.
"Life is full of sweet mistakes
And love's an honest one to make
Time leaves no fruit on the tree
But you're gonna live forever in me
I guarantee, it's just meant to be
And when the pastor asks the pews
For reasons he can't marry you
I'll keep my word and my seat
But you're gonna live forever in me
I'll guarantee, just wait and see"

Ethan ended the song and looked up timidly. Amy, Mark, and Tyler applauded and gushed over his beautiful voice. "You sound so good Ethan, why don't you sing more often?" Mark asked as he shoved another marshmallow in his mouth. "I don't really like to sing in front of people," Ethan replied as Amy stood up. "I gotta pee, you guys," Amy said walking away from the circle of friends. Just as Amy left them, Mark was trying to blow out a marshmallow that had caught on fire. Instead of doing so, the flame reached up and lit his bangs on fire. He let out his classic markimoo scream and jumped up trying to put the flame out with his hands. Tyler and Ethan sat with their mouths full of s'mores, gaping at their poor friend trying to extinguish his fiery locks. When the fire in Mark's hair finally went out, he headed towards the lake down the hill saying defeatedly, "I need to dunk my head in the water, be right back guys."
Ethan and Tyler looked at each other and laughed in unison. Ethan's laughter trailed off as he tilted his head and looked at Tyler's lips. Ethan admired the soft glow of Tyler's skin in the firelight. He gently brought his face closer and closer to Tyler's. Tyler felt his cheeks grow hot, but not from the warmth of the fire. Tyler looked into Ethan's stormy grey-green eyes and felt himself leaning in towards Ethan's face, closing his eyes. Ethan reached his hand out and tenderly brushed some marshmallow fluff off of Tyler's cheek. Ethan withdrew himself and said, "you had some marshmallow, it was bothering me." Tyler opened his eyes and tried to look normal, "Oh, uh, thank you," he said nonchalantly. There was a moment of awkward silence before Amy came back. "Where's Mark?"
"Oh he lit his hair on fire," Ethan said casually. "What?!" Amy exclaimed. "Oh hey guys, I'm fine," Mark's voice came from behind them. Amy shook her head with an amused smile, "I'm glad to see that you're alright."
Amy and Mark announced that they were going to bed and disappeared into their tent. Ethan and Tyler put out the campfire. "Hey, do you wanna go for a walk? I mean it's only like, 11 O'clock," Tyler suggested. "Yeah sure," Ethan agreed. Getting up, they walked down towards the lake. They talked and joked as they made their way down the hill. The wind picked up as they arrived at the lake, making the tree leaves rustle. "Did you ever skip rocks when you were little?" Tyler asked Ethan. Ethan shook his head, "I always tried but I could never quite get it." Tyler searched the ground for a flat rock. "Here," he said placing a rock in Ethan's hand. "Just throw it kind of like a frisbee, but hold the edge of the rock with your index finger. Tilt the front end up a little bit, and then throw it with a side arm throw."
Ethan's rock skipped across the water's surface a total of two times before it plunked into the lake. "Wowie!" Ethan shouted as he jumped up in the air turning to face Tyler. "I did it! I ACTUALLY DID IT!!!" In all the excitement, Ethan lost his footing and fell into the cold lake water with a plop. "Ahhh, it's so cold!" Ethan screeched as he tried to get out of the water.   Helping him up, Tyler gave a slight laugh.
When they got back to the camp, Tyler crawled into his sleeping bag and fell asleep instantly. Ethan changed out of his wet clothes and settled into his old and worn out sleeping bag. He shivered as the chilly night breeze flooded the tent. After thirty minutes of tossing and turning, unable to sleep due to the discomfort of the cold, he sat up and looked over at Tyler. He looks so warm and cozy, He thought. Worming his way over, he scooted down into Tyler's large sleeping bag. Tyler stirred in his sleep and Ethan snuggled his head under Tyler's chin, taking in the scent of his shirt. He closed his eyes, feeling the warm heat of Tyler's body wash over him and he fell into a deep sleep.
Tyler's eyes fluttered open in the dim light of the early morning. Breathing in he could taste the scent of something familiar, ocean breeze. Looking down he saw a mass of blue hair pressed up against his chest. After a moment he realized his arm felt numb and he slowly tried to remove himself from under Ethan's head without waking him. Ethan looked up at Tyler with a sleepy smile and propped himself up on his elbow. Tyler sat up and delicately touched the back of Ethan's neck. Ethan's eyes closed as Tyler brought their faces together. Tyler's lips nearly brushed with Ethan's, he could feel the fresh minty breath of the moist blue boi. Their lips connected with an electric jolt. They stopped a moment to catch their breath, and went for it again. Ethan's hand caressed the underside of Tyler's face and Tyler's arms reached around his thin frame. So enthralled with their passionate kissing, neither of the two boys realized that the tent door was being unzipped. Mark opened the tent to witness a shocking scene, his two friends were smooching intensely. Opening his eyes slightly Ethan noticed the horrified face of Mark staring at them. Panicking, he quickly shoved Tyler away from him. Tyler glanced around and also noticed Mark and scrambled to the other side of the tent. "It's not what it looks like!" Tyler and Ethan said at the same time. Mark raised his eyebrows and gave them a skeptical look, "Oh..."
