You, yes you, the one staring out the window.

Are you new to Ms. Moreno’s class? Do you not know what to do?

Are you struggling, is she troubling?

I’ve got some advice for you.

With assignments:

She won’t explain, yet expect you to know,

She’ll whisper a due date, and get mad if you don’t show.

She’ll tell your class you’re not doing your work,

then laugh it off with her silly smirk.

Before you enter her class for the block

Take a second for yourself, you’re in the hall? Stop.

Strap on your armour, throw up your shield.

She’ll insult you, you know that, but never yield.

Be a knight in shining armour, the king to Moreno’s Arthur.

But, Moreno’s not all bad you know.

She’s like a stand-up comedian, just putting on a show.

If you dress like Joel, a hipster to the core,

and you’re late one day, for her amusement

She’ll let us laugh at you as you stand knocking on the door

In Moreno’s class you’re but a flower,

Adaption takes place with every hour.

Grow thorns and break barriers to thrive,

or be trampled on and barley survive.

But never, under any circumstances, take words she utters jokingly, to heart.

Moreno will put you to the test,

Push you the brink of death.

Each class the clock will seem to work backwards,

Until finally, one day you’ll be sitting there staring into space

And you’ll get it, you’ll like her, you’ll be this year’s ace.
