I wonder if you see the same sky as I do,
blue, and never ending,
as I lay here in the grass, gazing up,
listening to the sounds of my surroundings,
while birds chirp, and dogs takes their owners for a stroll,
and i quietly sing my favorite song,
thinking back to times spend together,
moments, short and few, yes, but with love and warmth,
clouds seem to drift past faster than I'd hope,
as I count the stars in the night sky,
tell me, do you too make up stories, lost in time and space,
of planets you've never seen, and species that may not even exist,
whilst pretending the ground feels as a soft wet cloud, brushing at your back,
but what do I know, you may have seen all that,
I wonder, do you feel that too,
the warmth of the sun on your skin,
and the beating of your heart
for the people that mean most to you,
I wonder, do you know it too,
the pretense of joy,
the pain you can't deny,
for what can never be, and times spend without,
as everybody asks if you don't miss that person in your life,
I wonder, do you ever think what life would have offered us,
past present and future, if you were still here,
how different our lives may have been,
how different we may have been,
I do,
would you have told me all about what you have seen and felt,
all the small and insignificant things on your path,
all you hold dear, and everything that makes you happy,
cause I will.
