CHAPTER ONE.
"Well? What do you think?", said my friend Ashley, as she came out of the fitting room in a beautiful velvet red dress. I stared for a moment. Then kinda doze off...
I didnt really want to be here, I had other important things to do than to look for, a stupid prom dress. Ashley on the other hand had been waiting for this all her years in high school, to look for a prom dress and be crowned prom queen. I ,however, had other plans in mind.
"Earth to Persephone!!!" I immediately jumped to my senses, but then I gazed off and thought of my parents.
Trying to remember their faces, their voices, ... how happy we were as a family. It's very difficult to remember someone's face when they've been dead for so long. And i try to remember their faces almost all the time. I also remember how I never even got the chance to say goodbye nor an "I love you". Life just simply took them away from me. It wasn't just life and death who took them away from me though, it was also a man who didnt even consider sparing my parents lives.....
At the thought of all this I suddenly frown and give a small sigh.
"Persephone!!!!!"
I blinked and came back to my attention. "What?-Oh!! It's beautiful. Very ...Uhhh ... red". She looked at me for a moment and then turned her body over to the mirror that was behind her, then looked at me once more. "Ugh its hopeless! I'll never find my dress!!". I stare for a second then look at a few more dresses. "By the way Ash, you know I dont like it when you say ..." I lowered my voice, "... my name?"
She looked at me with a sincere sad face.
"Oh right. Sorry Seph."
"Its fine."
We were still in search for the prom dress. A purple one with tiny little gems had caught my eye. I lifted the dress and showed it to Ash.
"How about this one?" she stared at it for a moment, and then gave the dress
a nasty look.
"Eww! How about no!"
I gave out a huge sigh.
It's not my fault I have bad taste in clothing. My wardrobe is mostly filled with dark colors. It wasn't always like that though. Before my parents passed away ...well, were murdered. I used to be more girly like Ash. I used to wear a lot of pink and red those were my favorite colors, I also looked pretty damn good in them too. I still wear red sometimes, not that often though. It brings my parents to mind and ... Red in fact is the color of ... blood.
In the end Ashley decided to buy, a lovely strapless blue dress. The dress itself was an amount of money I wouldn't pay for a piece of cloth. She then wanted accessories and a new braw and panties to mach. I honestly think I would never waste money for prom like Ash. I stood beside her as she swiped her credit card to pay and after a few quick job applying questions, we were out.
Finally.
A few min later and we were walking around near the food court. "Hey Seph?"
"Please dont tell me you wanna go in search of more clothes."
"Actually, Im kinda hungry. How about you?"
Are you kidding me? my stomach had been growling since we got here.
