Should I try?

Everyday I wake up with these doubts
Fear mongering and such
How can love flourish
Where so much hate thrives

How can I prove to them
That I'm a decent guy
Should I even try?
Or would it be a waste of time

Hatered and fear gather like a storm
Rain clouds roll in
Will it ever be the same?
I try and I try
To do what's right
To make you happy

But still, for them
It's not enough
To old they say
To white as well

Well I'm sorry baby girl
On those things they dwell
They don't see your smile
Or the way you feel
When were kicking in
Not a care in the world

Just you and I

So, I ask you again
Once more, so they say
Can you not give up?
Despite all they say

I know I'm not perfect
And in this state of mind
I'm sometimes hard to love
But I promise you ill never grow tired

Of your gift, that's truly sent from above.

So, I say this true.

There's nobody else for me darlin

Only you.
