Scarlet heard gasping and stopped her run. She looked down and saw two men floating in the river. She watched as the men closed their eyes and started drifting away. "Chief! Brutus!" her two German Shepherds stopped and looked at her. "Fetch!" she commanded, gesturing to the two figures in the water. The two dogs went running toward the water while Scarlet called for an ambulance.

The young woman ran down toward the bank of the river as Chief and Brutus were pulling the two men out of the water. "Please don't be dead, please don't be dead," she whispered. She got to the men and thanked the lord when she saw that they were both breathing. Brutus started licking one of the men, the one with longer darker hair. "Stop." Scarlet looked at the second man and had to admit that he was very handsome.

He had a sharp jaw line that sported some very becoming stubble and his nose was slightly pointed. He had shorter hair than his friend and it was lovely shade of blond. The thing that got Scarlet was that he was wearing armor. They both were.

She didn't have long to contemplate how attractive both men were before the ambulance showed up. "Hey, Ms. Golden. Who are they?" Scarlet's friend and EMT, Matthew, asked. Scarlet shrugged. "I'm not sure. They were just floatin' in the river." Matt asked more questions as the others loaded the two strangers into the ambulances. "I'm gonna take the dogs back to Ollie and met ya at the hospital, alright?" Matt nodded and climbed in the back of one of the ambulances with the darker haired man.

Scarlet ran back home to drop off her loyal dogs, only to almost run into her brother. "Whoa, Scar! Where's the fire?" Scarlet quickly explained what happened. "I'm goin' to the hospital. If I'm not back in time to cook, Keilah knows where everythin' is and so does my assistant." Without bothering to change out of her running clothes, Scarlet ran back out and toward her car.

Jaime groaned slightly as he tried to open his eyes. A bright light made him snap them shut again. After a second, he tried again. Only then did Jaime realize that he wasn't outside. Instead, he was in a strange building. It had a peculiar, overly clean smell to it and there were strange contraptions everywhere. "Where the fuck are we?"

Jaime turned his head to see Bronn in a bed next to his. Jaime opened his mouth to speak, but a door opened and someone walked in. "Oh, good! You're both awake." Whoever it was came closer to the bed, making Bronn and Jaime try to get away. "Easy there. I'm the doctor. I'm not going to hurt you." Jaime wasn't sure what a doctor was, so he reiterated Bronn's question. "Where are we?"

"You're in the hospital of course. One of Savannah's finest residents fished you out of the river. What were you doing in there?" the "doctor" asked. Bronn snorted, "We fancied a swim, of course." The doctor smiled. "I see. Not sure the Savannah River is the best place for that. Now, can I get your names, please?"

They told him, and the doctor made notes. He kept asking more and more questions, not really letting them ask any of their own. Jaime had a ton of questions in his head, but he wouldn't get the chance to ask them. Not right away anyway. The door opened again and both men fought back a groan. "Hey, sorry to interrupt, Doc but Scarlet's here. She's lookin' after them." The doctor told her to send this Scarlet in.

Just before Scarlet entered the room, the doctor straightened his coat and ran a hand through his hair. Jaime rolled his eyes. Whoever this Scarlet was, obviously the doctor fancied her. Scarlet came in and smiled at Jaime and Bronn. "Nice to see you're both alive. You had me worried." Looking the young woman up and down, Jaime decided that the name definitely suited the woman. Her hair was a shade of red that was almost scarlet. "Hey, Scarlet."

Jaime watched as Scarlet's smile turned tense. "Hey, Noah. How are your patients doing?" Noah frowned but answered her question. "Jaime and Bronn are doing fine. I was just finishing up their paper work." He took Scarlet's arm and pulled her away and began to whisper to her. Jaime caught snippets such as "strange clothing", "mental health" and "homeless". Then, Scarlet spoke up, "Well, I can look after 'em. We've got a couple extra rooms at the bed and breakfast. I'm sure Ollie won't mind."

Scarlet walked back over to Jaime and Bronn. "My name's Scarlet. Scarlet Golden. And ya'll are gonna come stay with me for a little while 'til we figure some stuff out, alright?" Both men were taken back by her accent. It wasn't one they'd ever heard before. Were they really willing to stay with this woman? Jaime didn't see how he had much choice. It was either that or stay at this "hospital". He glanced over at Bronn who nodded slightly. Jaime turned back to Scarlet and said, "Alright...and thank you, Lady Scarlet."

Scarlet giggled lightly. "No need for all that 'lady' stuff. Scarlet's fine. Here, I brought ya some clothes." Jaime sat up fully and moved to get out of bed. He felt a slight breeze behind him and he realized that the back of the tunic he was wearing was open. Scarlet blushed and turned away. "I'll wait outside." A few minutes later, Jaime and Bronn were leaving the building behind Scarlet.
