Intoxicated I Love You

Uh

"Hello Kara."

"Hello Braden." I internally sigh, here we go with being friendly.

"How've you been? I haven't seen you much this year."

"I've been fine, and yourself?"

"Oh, Kar, don't play that super polite girl, what happened to the fun, goofy, loving, girl I used to hang out with?"

Damnit Braden, can't you just ignore me like everyone else? That girl is long gone!

"She's gone on vacation for the rest of her life."

He shook his head, "Why? Who did you let hurt you so bad to change you."

"Any and everyone close to me." I said aloud then mumbled "Especially you."

"What was that last part?"

Before he could expect an answer the bell rang.

"See ya Braden!" I yelled back as I took off down the hallway.

Walking into class I hung my earbuds around the back of my ears and sat in my seat. As soon as I sat down, in walked the Wicked Witch of the West. Angela.

Normally she doesn't bother me, and I'm fine with that.

Today it just seemed everything was going wrong. The last two seats open were on either side of me. She sat in one and then Braden walked in and sat in the other.

Normally I'm all for free seating arrangements, but today nothing is normal.

"Hey Kara! My BestestFriend!!"

I rolled my eyes and ignored her as the teacher took roll. Unfortunately she bothered me for the rest of the period as she tried to catch Braden's attention. What made it worse was Mr. Barrie, you know the Barrie who's attention Angela is trying to catch, was too busy staring at me. Yeah Angela is going to have it out for me now.

When the bell rang I made a bee line for the door. Three more periods then I get to leave while everyone else is stuck in this hell hole!

I walked the opposite direction of the crowd and headed towards the parking lot. Before I could make it out the door Braden caught up with me.

"Kara! Wait up!"

"For?"

"I want to walk you to your car" he replied as he caught up.

"Uh." I slowed down. "Sure."
