Sheriff Bigby Wolf was walking down the hall to the business office at City Hall to meet up with Snow, and talk to Deputy Mayor Crane about the current murder case that had taken place earlier yesterday night. Ignoring the large line of people standing outside of the main office door going to report complaints, suggestions, and their own personal problems to the office, Bigby walked past them and made his way to the to the main door, about to open it, when a young man with the name of Grendel walked out of the line and shouted out to Bigby just before he was going to walk in the office.

"What're you blind?" Grendel asked. "What, you don't see there's a line?" Grendel started walking over to Bigby, his voice sounding obviously pissed off. "I been standing here a half hour already. You think you can just walk in?!" Grendel got right in Bigby's face. "Must be nice, being the Sheriff... Do whatever the fuck you like."

Bigby turned around, eyeing Grendel. "I work here."

Grendel raised his eyebrow, and grinned. "And what great work you do, Sheriff."

"Hmm..." Bigby looked at Grendel, "That didn't feel very genuine." Before turning his back to Grendel and slamming the business office door on him, with a grin on his face.

"Fucker." Grendel muttered just before the door had been shut.

When Bigby entered the office, walking over to Crane's desk where Crane and Snow were, Bigby could hear Crane fighting with Snow.

"-and now you tell me there's a killer on the loose?" Crane asked Snow, his voice raising. "...you two tittering behind my back." Crane pointed his finger in Snow's face. "-because you are the one bringing this to me, Miss Snow. The one who so simply 'stumbled' upon this catastrophe on our very doorstep! The last thing I need with Mayor Cole away is a hysteria. Do you understand me?"

"Yes, of course I do," Snow tried to tell Crane. "But I-"

"Don't interrupt me Miss Snow!" Crane yelled.

"You asked me a question!" Snow defended herself.

"Don't change the subject!" Crane yelled back. "You are to blame for this unpleasantness, Miss Snow!"

"I brought you this news as soon as I could!" Snow sighed.

Crane lowered his voice, but anger was still heard in it. "You are trusted to keep things running smoothly around here! This is a disaster! Who else is to blame, if not you?"

Bigby walked up to Crane, and defended Snow. "It isn't anyone's fault." Bigby eyed Crane, but kept himself calm. "Instead of trying to assign blame, maybe we should figure out how to catch the fucker who did this."

Crane turned to Bigby, not appreciating his tone, as well as his point of view in this situation. "Oh?" Crane questioned. Is that how you see things?" Crane turned his back on Bigby, walking to his desk and sitting in his chair. "Sheriff, you are the one charged with protecting the citizens of Fabletown. Your failure to do so will cost someone their life, as well as the safety of the entire community! Tell me you've been doing something. Are there any leads? Suspects? Anything? Anything at all? Any shred of evidence you two know what the hell you're doing. Because right now I have half a mind to fire the both of you." Crane announced, crossing his arms.

"Yeah." Bigby said. "Her pimp."

"Her..." Crane trailed off. "was she a...?"

"Yeah." Bigby told Crane. "She was worried about a money situation."

"Well this is just wonderful." Crane said sarcastically. "Not only is a Fable killed, but it was a Fable hooker to boot." Crane pushed himself up in his chair. "You two need to get a handle on this situation quickly and quietly. The last this we need is all of Fabletown knowing there's a killer amongst us." Crane looked up to Snow. "Snow." He said.
