"You had me at hello.
I've never seen a smile that can light the room like yours It's simply radiant, I feel more with everyday that goes by. I watch the clock to make my timing just right Would it be okay? Would it be okay if I took your breath away?
And I'm wasting away, away from you."---
Anthony and Steven's relationship was a rather complicated one.
They weren't too affectionate. Cuddling and holding hands were a rarity within it. Each time, these were cherished, and Anthony held onto them with a certain passion. He sometimes doubted what they had to necessarily count as a relationship. They closest they got to intimacy was during long nights of love-making.
To say it bluntly, their fucking is what brought them together in the first place.
Though, Steven loved the way that Anthony's hair brisked his face and caused him to smile when they made love. The feeling of their skin against each-other had been a feeling burned into his memory such a long time ago.
The feeling of their breath colliding together at the same time as they had was the closest to Heaven that Steven would ever get.
At night, they're curled up together in Anthony's bed and their legs are wrapped around the other, his hair spread neatly on his pillow as they come down from their familiar high and hold the other in their arms with sweat stains along their sheets.
He wonders when his wings would melt to leave him in everlasting free fall, much like the mythology of Icarus.
So Steven sighs and buries his head into Anthony's neck, breathing heavily and taking in all of him. His scents and emotions all bound into one with eyes glittering luminously.
He has already fallen.
The night before Steven was said to leave was one of the hardest nights of Anthony's life. He often spoke about traveling the world together, even if it had just been in their own backyard, only it simply never happened to be Anthony's thing. He hated flying and trains were much worse. They took longer and were smaller, despite the fact that he was afraid of heights.
His lover was standing at the front door with suitcases in hand, and more bags piled at the top of their staircase. He would be gone in the morning before his boyfriend was able to break from slumber's grasp.
One foot placed in front of the other. He didn't hesitate to join.
A frown was tugging at both of their lips so the older man pulled his love into am embrace and rested his chin on the top of his head as Steven buried his face into his significant other's chest and wrapped his fingers around the fabric of his jacket.
He pulled away to cup the younger man's face in the palms of his hands and their noses rubbed against the other lightly. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, nothing's wrong." Anthony's hand made circular movements along the small of his back as he dub his thumb into his side and pressed his lips to his forehead.
He already had his hoodie slung over his chest. The one that Anthony loved so dearly because it smelled like him and had the same print that always reminded him of his boyfriend when he was away. He had his train-tickets perched on the counter beside the door and tucked them into the back-pocket of his sweatpants when he noticed who was looking.
"You're going?"His voice was lowered, and broke before he could finish his sentence. He knew how soft and broken he sounded and was aware that he appeared as weak, though the loss made him crumble.
"You knew I was gonna," Steven replied, almost whispering, "but not until the morning. Technically, I'm leaving tonight to crash somewhere by the train station."
