The large brown house at the end of 4th street, Cumberland, Rhode Island held many things. For instance, it held Jaedon and Jessica Williams, and their 3 children. It also held the polished hardwood floor that spread out through the entire vicinity, and the sturdy chairs around the dining room table. It held the brick fireplace in the living room, burning away, crackling as it emitted warmth and light. There was the backyard, full of green, luscious grass, and a little garden, overgrown from the fact that the owner of it, never tended to it. And up in the third bedroom on the second floor, it held one of the Williams children, Jack Williams, opening the letter with a crimson I stamp, that had just been slid under his window. Last of all, this house, held magic.
Dad!" Jack yelled, tearing open the letter, ripping up the greyed parchment, reaching inside it, grabbing a small packet from inside of it. "Dad, come quick! I got my letter!" He exclaimed, unfolding the packet as rapidly as he possibly could, scanning the contents. The only words that he put together however were, you have been, and accepted. Jumping up and down, his dad's heavy footsteps could be heard running up the stairs. "You did it bud!" Jaedon yelled, speeding into his son's room. Jack was jumping up and down, unable to contain his excitement. Jaedon grabbed the letter from Jack's hands, reading it, a huge grin on his face. "I remember all of the amazing times I had at Ilvelmorny." He said to his son, still going over it. "You're gonna have an amazing time!" Jack, now calming down from his excitement, collapsed onto his bed. "I know dad! I know!" He began rolling around on his bed now, clutching his red plaid sheets, and smiling widely. "Can I tell Jackie and Mason yet dad?" Jack pleaded, wanting to let his younger siblings hear the news. "Please?" Looking down at his watch, Jaedon read the time; 10:23 PM. "Not tonight bud." He said, scratching his light blonde beard, the same color as his hair. "They're already sleeping, and you need some sleep come to think of it." Jack sighed, crawling under his covers, he was to excited to argue tonight. "We'll get your school stuff sorted soon." Jaedon said, taking a seat on the bed next to his son. "You've still got a while till the term starts." He said, stroking his sons back. "And I'll be sure to tell Mom the news when she gets home!" Getting up Jaedon, glanced at Jack one last time. "Love you bud." "Love you dad." And as Jaedon exited his son's room, he wiped away his fake smile, his wrinkles suddenly coming out, extremely full. "I knew this would happen." He muttered to himself. "It's so dangerous there now... and if he ever found out about what I..." Shaking himself, he put the fake smile back on. "No. That won't happen." And with a start, he walked back downstairs, where he would grab his coffee mug, and sit in his chair by the fire, going over all his old memories in his head, no matter how grave they were.
"Really?" Jackie Williams asked, staring up at her big brother, as he entered the room, collapsing into her cushioned arm chair. "Yep!" He said, grinning once again, looking into her dark brown eyes, as she stared into his dark blues. "Came last night when you were sleeping." The sun was shining through the window near Jackie's bed, creating a warm and light feeling, displaying how Jack felt about going to Ilvelmorny. "Wow! I can't wait to tell Mason!" She lit up, not being able to wait to tell there little sibling. "He's still sleeping." Jack replied, having earlier tried to tell him. Looking at his watch it read 9:23 AM, still fairly early. "Does mom know?" She asked, now wanting to know every detail, after all there father had told them of all his adventures, and going to Ilvelmorny in this family was a big deal. "I think dad let her know when she got home last night." He replied, just as eager to respond. "I can't wait to hear all the details!" Jackie said, almost jumping up and down. The two had been close, and although she would be sad to have him gone for the school year, she was still extremely excited. "You better write everyday!" Laughing slightly, Jack replied. "Maybe not every day.., besides I still have a little less than a month till school!" Getting up, to ruffle his sisters hair. Looking around the slightly peeling dark green wallpaper of her room, and the tattered furniture, he gave her a large hug. "We'll hang out everyday, and when I go I will write, just not everyday." "Alright Jack, I'll take it. Love you." "Love you too sis." Exiting the room, he took a right turn, checking if his brother had awoken from his sleep. "Not yet." He whispered to himself, watching the rising and falling of his brothers chest under the covers from the hall. Turning around, he walked steadily back to his room, walking to his brown oak desk, and picking up the freshly opened letter from the mess that lay on top of it. Reading the same line over and over again ; "We are pleased to inform you." He grinned, he really was going to Ilvelmorny.
As the days turned to nights, and the nights turned to days, the excitement never wore out, and Mason was told, being just as excited as them, his little eight year old body, vibrating with excitement. Every morning, before anyone was up, his mother left, the tough life of a full time lawyer, and arriving after all the kids were sleeping, only being allotted some time with them on the weekends. It had been around a week, when Jaedon had sat down with Jack explaining some things about Ilvelmorny for him. "So I get my school things at the school?" Asked Jack, sitting on the couch in the living room, sitting by the fire, warming his feet, as he propped them up on a cushion. "Yep!" Jaedon replied, reclining in his armchair. "And then, they'll take you into a room, to pick your wand!" Jack grinned. "A magic wand!" "Yep bud, sadly, you have to leave your wand at school for the summer, so no trouble for you." His dad announced, looking as if he wasn't to keen on the rule during his school years. Jack let out a sigh, of excitement, and grinned once more. "I really can't wait dad. It's gonna be amazing." He said staring into the fire, his green hoodie draped on his body. "I know bud. You're mom is really proud of you too!" Jaedon stared into the fire, suddenly getting a bit more serious. "I know you're excited but... you need to remember not to ask too many questions. There are things about that school, that may put your excitement into question, alright?" Jack stared at his dad, slightly puzzled, but knowing it was best not to argue. "Of course dad, I'll be too busy having fun to ask questions!" And with that, the serious tone that had suddenly been taken on was gone. And as the father and son stared into the fire, joking around, and talking about the amazing times that Jack would have, and as Jackie sat in her room, reading her books, and as Mason played with his action figures, and as Jack's mother was out, her ongoing lie about being a no-maj lawyer continuing, as she sat in an empty dark warehouse, conversing with a shady man, best known by many as Dr. Payne.
