The School

We walk outside to see a world abandoned by humanity. Our world taken over...gone. Not another human in sight. Are they all dead? Are we the only ones left. A street with no end and no beginning, there we were in the middle....alone....forever. I'm going to die aren't I. I can't leave them...I can't let them be alone. Riley must've realized what I was thinking. "It's going to be okay....everything is going to be okay." We walk over to the old pickup truck. The owner clearly didn't take great care of it judging by the look of it. Back when the owner first got it was a blue-green color, but know there's so much rust on it that it looks more like a whitish color. "Hope this actually starts." Onix finally comes over to the truck. "I'm sure it will." Riley beginning to look annoyed again starts to talk "What took you so long?" "Well my motorcycle had a spot on it." We wait for Onyx to jump start the truck. No one talked on the way to the school. The world was bland, it was like the world had all the color drained from it. The once light blue sky had turned grey and cold. The grass was no longer green, just a wilting brown color that disgusted me. Look what they did to our world. Everything was dull, bland, how could one find hope to keep going in a world this destroyed. How will I survive. Every breath felt empty, like the color wasn't the only thing being drained from the world, it was also the life from it. There were no animals in sight. No sound. Just silence, horrible silence.

When we finally got to the school we couldn't believe it. It was crumbling. "Maybe there's still some supplies left let's go in and see." My world is crumbling down...down...down. I will never see the faces of my peers while walking down the bland hallways of my school, the faces drained of originality. Cold, still almost dead. Those faces were never kind to me, but had they died painfully? Are they still alive? My world is gone. "Olivia! Hurry up!" I was violently pulled out of my own thoughts. I see my friends about to go into the crumbling building. I walk toads them. "Are you okay?" "Onyx I'm fine." Those words have never meant anything to me, but they did to the people around me. They were dull words, full of lies....I've never been..fine. Riley's energetic voice startled me it vibrated in my thoughts. For the first time in weeks I was fully awake. "Guys the cafeteria is this way!" We followed Riley down the dark hallway, it was dusty.

As we entered the cafeteria I was shocked at how unfamiliar this place seemed to me. Almost like a horrible dream. We all set out to find some           non-spoiled food. Onyx was the first one to find some food. "Hey guys I found some bread." Her voice was deeper than Riley's, but it was still kind. Her voiced was dark and mysterious, but also sometimes childish. She always try's to hide how much she cares. It's actually really cute when she shows her emotions because when she does she frantically tries to cover it up by acting cool.

After what seemed like hours of searching for supplies we finally had enough to sustain us for a couple of weeks. I never liked this place. It was like a breeding ground for depression, anxiety, and lets not forget about stress. Some people are immune to these things but sadly I was not. I'm all too familiar with these things.
