Jess's P.O.V

"Babes I'm outside"

I hear some shuffling about on the other side before Conor finally answer.

"Alrighty, I'll be out in five"

He hang up the call and I lean back in my seat, Christmas music being played on the radio as I proceed to text Merissa.

Me and Conor will be done around lunch time, should I come and pick you up afterwards?

Placing my phone down on my lap do I smile for myself, it was finally time to find out the gender and I couldn't tell you how excited both me and Conor are.

"Hi there, sorry I'm late, got stuck in a meeting for longer than I expected"

Conor lean over and give me a quick kiss before he put on his seatbelt.

"No worries bubbs, how was work?"

I drive out onto the bigger road, heading towards the hospital.

"It was alright, the usual I guess"

He pick up my phone as it vibrate, reading my latest text conversation with Merissa.

"You and Issa are just the weirdest people I know"

Chuckling does he put my phone down again, leaning his head against the cold window next to him.

"Weird boyfriends make weird girlfriends"

He smile, humming along to Last Christmas as we drive along the busy roads of London.

............

"Hello lovelies, please have a seat right here and I'll be back in a second"

Our kind midwife escort us to our room, a large smile on her face as she wave us off in the door.

I sit up on the bed whilst Conor casually walks around the small room having a look at the different booklets about all kinds of pregnancy tips you could ever find.

His hands were stuffed into the pockets of his jeans as he takes a seat on one of the three chairs next to the bed.

"You look lovely baby"

I feel my cheeks heat up as he compliment me, my hand reaching up to push my long hair away from my face.

"Oh stop it Conor"

He chuckle, his focus now on his phone as he texted Jack about some future project they'd been working on together.

"Excuse me guys, I underestimated the time but let's get this show on the road shall we"

The midwife smile as she sinks down in her seat and Conor grab my hand, quickly putting away his phone.

"So any Christmas plans?"

I look up at Conor and he just smile lovingly down at me.

"Not much, just chilling out with the family, having some time for ourselves, it's needed after a quite hectic autumn"

She nod understandably, pulling on her rubber gloves.

"It's always nice to just be home"

Conor squeeze my hand, rubbing his thumb over my knuckles as he does so.

"Okay you ready for the cold gel?"

I nod, biting my bottom lip as she squeeze out the gel on my slowly growing bump.

Slowly does she move the monitor over my stomach, me and Conor both having our eyes locked on the screen on the wall opposite us. The black and white pixelated picture of our baby making my heart flutter.
