Robert Turner experienced a tragedy at 21. From then on, he refused to sell any of his paintings, and instead, lived in relative solitude in his cottage by the beautiful river. He paints swans as much as possible, then hides them away for no-one to see.
When Riley Grace, daughter of the richest man in the county, rides by on her horse, she is captivated by the colours of the painter. Surprised when he doesn't allow her to buy it, she becomes more enthralled by him, and passes by him every day on her daily horse ride.
Unknown to Riley, Robert paints her, too. Amazed when she sees one of his paintings of her, she asks him about his inspiration. He tells her that he only paints the beauty and grace of swans.
Falling in love with him, Riley vows to find out the secret of this lonely man. Little does she know, it is closer to home than she thinks.
