EDIT: This was the first story I have published and I actually wrote the first couple of chapters in 2016 before publishing them a year later and continuing the story. Therefore, the first few chapters aren't amazing and they are also very short. This story gets better from chapter four onwards. Chapter 1, 2 and 3 all range from 500-800 words whereas chapters after that mainly range from 1000-1300. And my most recent chapters word counts range from 1600-2000. So all I'm asking is that you give the story time. The first few chapters are only really setting a background... You could skip to chapter 4 (As I've inserted a summary there for anyone who would like to read from there) if you'd like, though it may not make as much sense as you'd only be going of a summary of the book so far rather than reading it yourself. Thanks for finding and reading my story :) I hope you like it. xxx

A/N: I really don't know what to name these chapters so for the time being, I'm just going to number them. I hope you enjoy my first chapter!

I tightly clung onto my bag as i stumbled out of my bedroom door down the stairs,

"Hey sweetie," I was greeted by my mum. My dad had already left for work and my mum was just about to leave.

"Morning mum," She kissed me on the forehead and quickly made her way towards the front door. I was used to seeing my parents rush off in the morning, they both started work really early and i was okay with that. I grabbed an apple and tossed in my bag before walking towards the front door and locking up. After i locked up, I hopped in the driver's seat of my car and drove in the direction of my best friend's house. I always drop her off and pick her up from school as she doesn't have a car. She's taken her driver's test and passed, but her mum can't afford to buy her a car just yet. On the way to her house, I stopped of at a shop to buy a sandwich to pair up with my apple for lunch and grabbed a drink for Zara.

"Hey Madison," Zara said as she climbed into the passenger's seat and kindly accepted the drink from me, "Are you going to speak to Harry today?"

"No!" I gasped as i suddenly brought the car to a stop before a red light, "You know I'm too scared to do that?" I answered Zara as if it was obvious.

"Oh please!" she took a brief pause, "It's not like anybody else wants to talk to him!"

"Awhh," I sympathised. He wasn't a geek or anything, he just prioritised his education. Which to me is a great thing. However, Zara complains about how that makes him a loser! I've had a crush on him for almost a year now and Zara thinks i should tell him. Me and Zara are best friends however, complete opposites. I really don't know how we came about to be friends. Not because she's rude or nasty or anything, but because we are so different. Zara's confident and speaks her mind. I'm shy and very focused on all my school work rather than my social status.

"Loser Madi," The boy's football team taunted at me as i walked through the school entrance.

"Stop acting like a bunch of pathetic, bitchy girls who are on their period," Zara snapped at them as she pushed me through the crowded hallways to right outside my locker. She looked at me sadly.

"It doesn't bother me Z," I smiled, "Honestly," She just shook her head made her way to first lesson leaving me to collect my books from my locker.

"Where's your bodyguard, Zozo?" A guy from the football team questioned looking disgusted by my presence.

"It's Zara," I frowned. He squared up to me so that we were practically touching.

"What was that?" He demanded aggressively. He waited a moment before he spoke up again, "That's what i thought" He took a step back.

"I-I've really got to-got to get to l-lessons," I stuttered, worry clearly portraying onto my face making it obvious i was scared. I didn't give him chance to answer back before i scrambled away from him to my first lesson.

This was usually how most school mornings would go. I was bullied for many things, a few being the way i looked, the fact that i loved my education, the fact my parents work so much and even the fact that i didn't really have many friends.

I don't really have many high school experiences like having a boyfriend, going out with friends or getting drunk at a party because when i first started high school, my mum was really ill and needed lots of support and caring for.

Meaning i didn't really have time to go to parties and make stupid yet funny mistakes like everyone else. I sacrificed all that to help my mum and now that i'm coming up to my final years in highschool, i don't really have time to start making all these memories.

I can't exactly say I want to start making all these memorys either. I've got one high school memory which is enough to scare me from making anymore.

A/N: Sorry that my first chapter was really short, I've just had this book cover sitting in my laptop folders for so long and finally made a book out of it! Q-What's your favourite book on Wattpad?
