Before there was anything, there was the sun and the moon. Together they lived in harmony, swirling through the cosmos, blessing stars who floated on wings of silver. Millennia passed and the two grew lonelier with each passing year, yearning for children of their own. Their prayers were answered when a lonely planet they named Gaia or Earth floated silently into their atmosphere. Its surface was bare and broken with scars of asteroids littering patches all over the scraggly planet. The moon scooped the wandering planet into her arms and smiled, it was the perfect home for her children to live upon.
Touching the surface of the earth, the moon made Guilamount, the land of the brave and the quick and Celestia, the land of the mysterious and clever. Cradling Gaia with its golden sunshine, the sun made the realms of Heliatra, the land of the wise and curious and Calatan, the land of the tempered and strong. In their image they made people to live in their realms. Those who lived in Calatan or Heliatra were descended from the sun and those from Guilamount and Celestia were descendants of the moon. Together they made Meridan the land of the proud and kind, the biggest of all the realms. In it they put people of both the moon and the sun. In the heart of Meridan they made the Castle of Stars where a ruler would rule over their world. The first King was Francis the Brave, who assigned Lords and Ladies to rule over each of his realms. Iago of Guilamount, Raven of Celestia, Felios of Heliatra and Bayard of Calatan.
The realms were designed to live in harmony until the end of time, but that would not be. A terrible prophecy revealed itself to the sun and moon gods, war would break out big enough to destroy the world on the day of the darkest eclipse. Desperate to stop Gaia's destruction, the gods made two sorcerers. One that embodied the power of the moon and one that harnessed the full power of the sun. Only their union would be strong enough to stop the war. These two destined warlocks would be born sixteen years before the eclipse and the gods placed their training in the hands of their most trusted creatures. The mermaids, dragons and elves that served the moon and the phoenix, griffins and unicorns that served the sun. When the time came, these two warlocks would hold the key to the world in their hands.
