seulgi
(the girlfriend that has been here through thick and thin and no matter what, will never stop loving wendy)
i wake up to the smell of eggs and bacon. wendy's in the kitchen, her voice humming a soft melody.
"morning sunshine," wendy smiles at me. eyes twinkling with happiness, her eyes turn back to focus on the pans.
"hey, what's this for?"
"oh, i wanted to do something nice. you've been helping me through a lot seulgi, this is my thank you."
i mindlessly grab the knives and forks, setting the table with ease. putting woven place mats where they belong while wendy hums to her unknown tune.
"i must admit i feel like snow white in the kitchen. making her beautiful girl a delicious meal." i laugh softly at her words, her smile not leaving her face.
"i'm guessing no bad dreams?" i ask, wendy just nodding her head.
"i've actually considered going to my dad, you know i've got to confront him sometime. especially if we get married."
"marriage?" my eyebrow peaks as wendy starts finishing the eggs.
"well yeah, it's been what? a good two years since the whole accident."
it's true, although the accident seems as if yesterday it's been forever. it was nice to see wendy in control, sometimes she'd let yeri out for fun. it was like these different selves of her have really grown on her.
yeri reminded her of when her mother wasn't on business trips, when her father didn't just hit her, when her life felt so good.
joy is only used when, apparently, i begin to get lazy and sad and i need to 'brighten up my mood.'
irene hasn't visited. wendy won't allow it, she said that irene will take over if she gets the chance and wendy can't stand the thought.
"okay wendy, i can join you in confronting your dad, if you like?"
"definitely, i need you with me." wendy served me my plate. she had arranged the food to make a huge smiley face, the bacon smile matched her own huge one.
"it looks good right? i mean, i hope it does."
"it looks amazing wendy."
"i think we should have a celebration today." wendy exclaims, her smile only growing in size.
"and why is that?" i ask, a soft smile poking at my lips as i look at wendy's eyes gleaming.
"because it's been two years to this day seulgi! you should know this by now."
"i'm sorry and you thought i forgot? of course i didn't."
"whatever you say." she rolls her eyes before shoving a piece of bacon down her throat.
"don't eat so much at once wendy." i shake my head slightly while she just shrugs.
"i think i should become a chef, i mean i can cook and it's obvious."
"wow let's just pump a bit more ego in you, beautiful."
"ah shut up. what do you think? am i the next master chef?"
"hm," wendy's lips still smiling as i shake my head, "nope."
"what? i think i'm pretty great." she pouts softly as i laugh.
"it's good wendy, don't worry."
wendy smiles when she sees me laughing, she grabs her camera and takes a selfie without looking at what she looks like.
instantly smiling at the result.
"you're really pretty seulgi." her eyes light up as she shakes the polarization image.
i grab it from her hand staring at our faces.
wendy has a soft glow to her, radiating brightness. to me, i looked dull behind her but wendy immediately fell in love with the picture.
"you're so beautiful wendy."
"not as beautiful as you."
it's a sudden action, her face lights up and she starts giggling foolishly.
"wendy?" she's still giggling, her small laughs turning into soft pants.
"i tricked you well didn't i, seulgi!" that's when i knew wendy wasn't wendy and i had no idea how long that the other was here instead of her.
