Different was born out of my thirst for a more fitting transgender representation in Wattpad literature and my thirst to write stories in English. I have to admit. Even though I make lots of mistakes in grammar, I still I find it easier to write in English than in Filipino. Years of ghostwriting for foreign clients really honed me.
Sadly, the reception has been trickling. You know, we write because we love writing. But at some point, we want to write something that matters to the readers and resonates well with them. It seems this may not be one of those types of works. It shares the same weakness as The Mind Bender, my other lesser known work. These were worth the sleepless nights still. Writing stories is fulfilling in a deeper sense than writing articles.
I'm going back to writing stories in Tagalog. I've started scribbling the first chapter of Queer. It's weird because the characters and the setting are American, but most of my readers are Pinoys. I get it now. So there.
Thank you to the few people who stuck around. I know my works are nowhere near perfect. I got plot holes here and there. I write things that don't sit well with you. I'm still learning this craft. I'm still walking my way through this whole new maze in my life. Thank you for walking with me. You know who you are guys.
