Chapter 1
I rush out of school on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. A wide grin is plastered across my face as my heavy bag pulls at my shoulders. I spot my car and throw my bag in the back, then run and jump into the passengers seat.
"There's no rush, your lesson starts at 4 and it's only 3! It takes two minutes to drive there." My mom laughs as we pull out of the parking spot.
"I know but I like to get there early and spend more time with Tucker before we ride!" I replied.
Tucker is a large bay thoroughbred, the fastest breed. His coat is always shiny and he is always so happy to see me. We ride hunter jumper in a large open arena filled with different jumps. He always takes them like a pro. It's nice to have a 1000lb best friend.
But I do not own or lease a horse yet, but when I do, it will be the best day of my 13 year life. Because when you find a passion, you have to keep with it. I have to chase my dreams, one jump at at time.

As we pull into the lower lot at the barn, I open the door and jump out while the car is still parking. Hey, I can't help it.
I stumble a little, trying not to notice my mom's angry glare, and run to the trunk to fetch my gear. I pull on my black leather Ariat boots, grab my black velvet Charles Owen helmet, and snatch my green riding bag before running up the stairs to barn 4.
I am greeted by fellow riders and catch up with my friend, Sarah, who I ride with. I turn to Tucker's stall as he touches his muzzle to the bars. "How's my boy doing?" I whisper to him as I unlock the gate. I grab his halter and lead rope, and head into his stall. He has hay sticking out from his mouth and walks over to me, nudging me a little on the side. "Good boy" I giggle as I easily slip on his light brown leather halter. I pat him a few times then clip on his lead rope and lead him to his cross ties. He lifts his head as I snap the cross ties to his halter. "I'll be right back," I tell him as I run to barn 3 to fetch his tack.
