4:41AM. Something had moved next to her, or rather; Alphys had moved.

Quietly Undyne nuzzled her face into her pillow, strands of her crimson hair messily sprawled over its white surface. Outside the wind whistled, long high frequencies that hurt her earfins, they twitched in genuine annoyance. But something was off; a certain, usual warmth was missing.

Lazily she slid her blue scaled arm towards Alphys' side of their bed, expecting to feel her pudgy arms reaching out to embrace her in a gentle hold, or maybe her chubby little tail wrapping around her leg- but there was nothing, only the still slightly warm, and crinkled fabric they were sleeping on together. At that she groaned softly before prompting herself up with her elbow as she lifted up her eye mask, squinting to filter the light. When her eye had gotten used to the dim light, allowing her to see, she immediately looked next to her. Just like she had expected she had been correct, Alphys really wasn't there, which was strange. Normally Undyne was the first one to get up, not Alphys.

Everyday they had been living together, Undyne had always been the first one to get out of bed. Usually she went for a small jog outside, if the weather allowed it or she would go out to do some groceries shopping to surprise Alphys with breakfast as soon as she woke up.                                                              The past few days Undyne hadn't had the opportunity to sneak out of the house early in the morning though. Recently Alphys would wake up almost every night to nightmares. She woke up drenched in sweat and tears already rolling down her reddened, puffy cheeks. The both of them sometimes stayed up the entire night to watch anime if something like that happened. Sure, Undyne's own rest suffered from it, but as long as she could help her girlfriend, it was ok. But Alphys had never gotten out of bed herself, at least, not to do anything apart from going to the bathroom that was.

Worriedly Undyne averted her gaze towards the bathroom, but there was no light filtering from under the wooden door. So that meant, she wasn't in the bathroom after all. Undyne furrowed her brows, slightly tilting her head to the side. But then... where? "What the heck?"

After quickly hoisting herself out of bed, Undyne pushed the faintly transparent curtain dividing the bedroom from the living room away, it almost ripped apart in the process. Her golden-yellow eye scanned over the room, but there was no sign of Alphys. Undyne grabbed a shirt and her workout jeans, and slipped into them both, before she began making her way towards the kitchen. The floor creaked in protest underneath her feet with every step she took. She peeked around the corner, secretly hoping for her significant other to be there, but as what she was afraid of, the kitchen was empty.

Slowly her earfins drooped down, lightly brushing the sides of her scaled cheeks. Was Alphys trying to suddenly jump out and scare her or something? If so, she was already succeeding at it. Deep inside she was scared, scared that Alphys had done something... Recklessly.  Undyne's voice wavered "Alphy?"

But nobody came.

"Alphys where are you, honey? This isn't funny, y'know?" Had Alphys told her something? That she was going to get up early to do something perhaps? Maybe she had hinted at something the night before? As much as Undyne tried to think about, nothing came up, to her own frustration. Violently she bit her own lip, drawing a little bit of blood. She squinted in disgust at the taste.

Just as she was about to leap towards the apartment buildings hallway, a soft and gentle melodical sound came from the living room, a familiar array of 'beeping' she knew all too well. Undyne's earfins perked up at the sound; that was definitely Alphys her phone, no doubt about it. She swiftly turned around towards the source of the noise, quickening her pace, almost tripping over her own feet in the process, but luckily regaining her balance last minute.                                              Alphys her pastel pink cellphone lay on the salon table in the living room, it's screen glowed dimly, but Alphys was no where in sight, only the phone; the phone she always carried with her.

That's odd, why would she...- "shit."
