wash away

witnessing the world around you while it rains is like entering an alternate dimension

in which the things from the original world change

everything smells different

the small splashes as the water hits the earth adds a score to every moment

the grip on your shoes don't work the same

the rain sometimes also acts like a reset to some things

the dirt and mud on your car from your travels gets washed away

straightened hair returns back to its natural, albeit slightly more frazzled state

the rain can also be seen as the earth's thanks

to plants, the rain is just earth saying "thank you for making this planet habitable, and creating oxygen for all the creatures that reside here. Here are the nutrients you need to keep going."

or for humans, it may be something along the lines of

"thank you for existing, and continuing to do so. I will now make food grow so you may eat, the ground slippery and exciting so you may play, and the air smell better than any perfume you can buy, so you may cherish every breath."
